Halloween Party, 2003
To celebrate Halloween, welcome Alexis back to Oaxaca, and repay our friends for their
many party invitations, CJ Byrns and Bill decided to host a Halloween Party.  Here are
some photos.  You should have been there.

A giant pumpkin and garlands greeted guests
as they arrived.

A skeleton resting on cactus
waited at the top of the stairs.

Candles and flowers filled the house.
Note the altar in the background.

Our altar had everything from skulls and flowers
to mezcal, tequilla, fruit and condoms.  It's
a tradition in Mexico.

We strung the traditional paper banners
across the living room.

Alexis celebrates with new friends,
Elena and Reagan

Alexis with Javier (a real soccer player)
and CJ, a la Frida Kahlo.

Behind the white face is Angel Lozano,
a Oaxacan artist and friend.

Gildorado and his son entertained us
throughout the evening.

Don and Pat really got into the dress of the
evening (they also provided great botanas)

Shannon is an artist, can't you tell.

CJ and Bill hosted the party.

Chuck was the Phantom of the Opera but
he and bill traded hats.

Bill's cook, Eva, got into the mood of the
evening with a mask from New Orleans.

Bill and Mary Ann came as Clark Kent (see
the Superman logo under his shirt) and a
mother superior.

Kay and Ann put a lot into their costumes.

The spooks and goblins chat.

Shirley was stunning in black and Jeri
made a perfect indian princess.

Lexy and friends.

Don, who is your pregnant friend?

Carolyn and Antonia smile for the camera.

Don and the host felt the beat.

The front patio was the favorite hangout.

No, this is not a costume.  Bill's cat, Cinco, gave
birth to four kittens during the party.
