Feeling

In China, People have special feelings toward their signs, that is, toward the animals they belong to. We do not like others to say that our signs are bad. People who are belong to the Dragon like to boast that they are the decendents of the Dragon, while people who are belong to the Swine would like to say that the swine are lovely. It is quite normal to have such feelings. But to some people who have power, this could also develop to something ridiculous.

In Ming Dynasty, one King's sign was the Swine. He stipulated that people were prohibited to raise pigs, otherwise they would be exiled. Also, one person in Song Dynasty was belong to the Rat. He did not raise cats and dogs and he even did not allow servants to kill rats. Then, his house became the paradise of rats. All the furniture, clothes and foods were damaged by rats. Even so, the person still sticked to his point. All these show that how Chinese people like their signs, some even irrationally.
