Hello
Dear Friends,
Why
did I came up with my own poetry site? Well, it's obvious that maybe I'm
such a hopelessly, incurable romantic. I'm such a lover of the arts
especially the literary form, like poetry, and is into it also quite passionately.
One of my poems, the "Dream Maker's
Dream" has been published by "The
International Library of Poetry" (Poetry.Com)
in their poem anthology "The Consuming
Flame" released last March of 2000.
It was nominated as a semi-finalist to the prestigious 1999
North American Open Poetry Contest.
Another poem, "In Shades Of Blue"
saw publication also last year in another anthology, "From
The Mountaintop" by the same organization.
Some
of my favorites were the likes of Pablo
Neruda,
Rupert
Brooke,
Robert
Bly,
W.S.
Merwin and Khalil
Gibran just to name a few. Their
poems are just "incredible." They really go beyond their words and made
you feel like it was your own. I would also consider the artist "Michael
Franks" a poetic genius in his own right.
His music really puts me in a poetic binge. Just listening to the
lyrics of his songs are poetry by themselves. J.
R. R. Tolkien, the author of the fantasy trilogy,
"Lord Of The Rings,"
is one author that inspired me to write a little chivalric story of my
own ('though it's a far cry from what he wrote, almost pathetic if I may
consider), "Knight Of The Bleeding Rose."
He is unsurpassed as far as the fantasy genre is concern, and is the genius
most fantasy writers tries to emulate. If you haven't read his books,
you're missing a lot! As far as the visual arts are concern, my favorites
are those of Winslow Homer,
John
Singer Sargent,
Maxfield
Parrish and Alphonse
Mucha. But I always am captivated
by the simplicity and economy of a watercolor. That's why I always
go for the likes of Winslow Homer and John Singer Sargent.
Anyway,
it's been a long time since I bothered doing anything with my poetry pages.
The last time I did was way back March of 2000! I thought it's about
time for me to do a little facelift for my webby and add some more poems
for your reading pleasure. Thank you so much for dropping by and
it is always a joy for me to know that you spared me with your precious
time. I hope that you find it worthwhile to visit me again.
Hopefully I'll do better to write more poems and update my site more often.
So relax and enjoy our hopelessly romantic verses... Don't
forget to view and sign my guestbook.
I'd appreciate a comment or two!
Take
care and keep the romance in your life burning, it's what makes life incredibly
beautiful!!
