Tamara De Lempicka

B U T

You held my hand

Your touch so soft

Like velvet on my skin

But so cold

In your touch I froze

Your numbness felt within

You looked at me

In your glance I melted

My heart beating in falsetto

But so sharp your stare

Like a dagger's touch

My life vanished in a blow

In my throne, I thought I reigned

My crown in shining glory

But as the sun sank down the ground

I suffocated in reality
