| Poem Two
Between
sleep and wakefulness I drift
On
clouds of imaginings.
Through
dreamy mists I shift;
I
think of you weakly,
I
contemplate you dreamily.
The
night engulfs me in its darkness;
It
threatens to smother me.
It
surrounds me in sadness.
I
lie sleepless,
I
lie friendless.
The
moon through my window pale
Suspended
in a sea of blue.
The
stars in the night sail,
And
beckons me,
And
tempts me.
And
slowly I shut my eyes
In
peaceful repose.
In
forgetfulness my body lies.
In
silence I sleep;
My
loneliness I keep. |
