| The Tree
Ode
to the tree
Whose
life we may reflect
Its
wisdom bare to see
To
learn in retrospect
Its
roots give strength to earth
They
travel everywhere
In
search of food to birth
For
strength to hold its share
And
from its roots there stands
Full
height before thine eyes
We
lean against its countenance
Absorb
a nature's pride
With
delicate decision
Arms
reach with peaceful airs
To
touch the sky of heaven
And
carry the fruit it bears
Ah!
The Tree, a tree
Beauty
grace my life
For
you whom I would be
In
death I would not cry |
