COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a survey course which takes a look at the emergence of the United States as a modern power.  It traces American History through 1945.  It generally follows a chronological timeline and emphasis is given to topics such as The Civil War, Reconstruction, Westward Expansion, The Industrial Revolution, Progressive Era, WW1, The Roaring Twenties, The Great Depression, and the Road to WW2.
