1951: Born on the 4th of July in Bryson City, South Carolina.
1971: Honourable discharge fron 'nam, after industrial dispute at Ford Plant.
1985: Played Live Aid with the 'Stones.
1991: Released from South African prison after long fight against Apartheid.
1995: Won Noble Peace Prize for my work in Glasgow.
1996: Scored second goal for England against Holland in Euro '96.
2001: Downed yard of ale in 2.3 seconds in the saloon bar of the Ferret and Trouserleg.
