Guest Director Michael Doane opened the season with a legal thriller. Howard Trapp, a traveling salesman, finds himself snowbound with a group of retired attorneys enjoying a gourmet dinner and what he believes to be a unique party game. He is to be placed on trail for the murder of his former boss, although he claims to "have never committed a crime in his life." However as the trial proceeds, he is no longer certain that this is just a game or that the potential punishment of death by hanging will not be carried out! The Deadly Game raised interesting questions about the role of law in society and the nature of innocence.
