The Deadly Game
Guest Director Michael Doane opened the season with a legal thriller. Howard Trapp, a traveling salesman, finds himself snowbound with a group of retired attorneys enjoying a gourmet dinner and what he believes to be a unique party game. He is to be placed on trail for the murder of his former boss, although he claims to "have never committed a crime in his life." However as the trial proceeds, he is no longer certain that this is just a game or that the potential punishment of death by hanging will not be carried out! The Deadly Game raised interesting questions about the role of law in society and the nature of innocence.

The Lion in Winter
ACT Award Winning Director and VTC Artistic Director Suzanne Maloney (Few Good Men, To Kill a Mockingbird) returned with James Goldman's The Lion in Winter, whose rich characters provide an fascinating picture of the intrigues and alliances of English and French royalty and the struggle for power during the late 12th century. In this wonderful revival of Christmas 1183 at the Royal Court of Windsor, King Henry II of England had to fend off wife Eleanor of Aquitaine, and their sons Richard and Geoffrey in order to get his son John on the throne and keep his young mistress Alais, all while keeping an eye on her brother Philip, King of France!

Gigi
Director and Board Member Dave Costa delighted audiences with Lerner and Loewe's Gigi. Set in Paris at the turn of the century, this delightful musical, based on a story by Collette, follows a precocious French girl as she is groomed into a would-be courtesan, blossoming into a stunning woman. The cast charmed audiences with classic songs such as "Gigi," "Thank Heaven for Little Girls," and "I Remember It Well." The cast was called "outstanding and talented" by The Washington Post.
