Babylon 5
Internet-Role Playing Game
Members Homepage
The Babylon 5 Role Playing Game (RPG) was originally created by four individuals, Ron Stewart, Paul Witter, Jon Nott and Soo Fitzgibbon. Our first mission group consisted of us four and no more in July 1997. Of the first four players, three were Volkune, and only one was human. Since then, our membership has grown to include all the major races, including the Volkunes. We grew into three mission groups, with a mixture of races and cultures to provide a bit of excitement and variety. Currently, we are a single core of dedicated individualists with a penchant for glorification.
The Volkune race was created to give ourselves a different angle on the Babylon 5 universe while trying to stay away from actual events in the television series ever growing in popularity. To read more about the Volkunes, please check out their page.
During our first mission, a Terran by the name of Valor Ivandehoe crash landed on Vol'Indi. At this time, a total collapse of the communications network was being investigated by the Volkunes. It was discovered the systems failure was caused by a single creature. Valor went on to assist the Volkunes in the discovery of a new life form which they named Entity.
Shortly after, the Terran Valor was assigned to take his ship deep into the realm of the Shadows to patrol their borders alongside the "younger races". He took with him on this voyage his beautiful Terran crewman, D'Rahnya Xilahn (Creala). His crew have grown, some have died fighting the Shadows, and there has also been the marriage and divorce of two players, Captain Hikatuishi Creala, a Volkune marine and the Terran D'Rahnya. Valor grew tired of fighting the relentless battle against the Shadows and left Captain D'Rahnya Creala in command of the Victory, and the Terran Mission Group. After another full year, Captian D'Rahnya also left the Terran Mission Group (for personal reasons), and the Terran Group has now been absorbed into the other groups.
Rron PrimaVol, the Volkune Monarch, led his band of followers in many adventures. In one of these, he and his crew managed to foil a plot to destroy the Millenium Dome during an intense Ambassadorial Conference of all the Alliance. The terrorist plot was formed by one Ert Cyng Bod, who disappeared after the destruction of the Millenium Dome, his plot having been thwarted when all the Ambassadors escaped alive. Ert Cyng Bod was the head of Cyberion Inc and was found to have been a cybernetic telepath bent on controlling the galaxy through his cyborg units. No further word has been received of the whereabouts of Ert Cyng Bod.
On returning from Earth, a romance blossomed between Rron and his friend, V'thtashi Harun de'. When it was discovered on Vol'ndi that Rron and V'thtashi were planning on joining in matrimony (previously forbidden to PrimaVol's), he retired from his position of authority on Vol'Indi and became the Volkune ambassador to Pax Station. Shortly after his installment as Ambassador, his parliamentary ruled government chose to oust him from his throne and have wrought much havoc in the quadrant through their zenophobic policies. V'thtashi has discovered that she is now pregnant by Rron, and has accepted her role of Royal Consort. Rron has also abdicated his throne in favour of the heir which V'thtashi carries, and has nominated a council of Regents to maintain his throne until the child has matured.
A plot then was revealed, after the murder of Rron PrimaVol, that lead to the suspicion of Shadow involvement in the Volkune political arena. The ties ran through the core of the Democratic Society.
In response to the threat of the Volkune Democratic Society, the Minbari directed one of their vessels, the Dawnstar, to patrol the region to protect the shipping lanes between Vol'Indi and Pax VII. font>
V'thtashi Harun de' was the first adminstrator of Pax VII Station. Pax houses a group of various races who have been brought together to form a permanent galactic embassy in neutral space where the various governments can meet to work out treaties, prosecute (in neutral territory) criminals accused of multi-racial crimes (terrorism, mainly), and work in harmony without prejudice. However, it was discovered that the planet chosen to harbour this base was, centuries before, the home world of the Shag Toth, the Soul Hunters which steal the souls of persons who have been destined for great things, as previously mentioned in the Babylon 5 series.
Having rid the underground base of any apparent threat of the Shag Toth revisiting the installation, the officers and staff seek to keep the base a well guarded secret. But with agents from various governments across the galaxy seeking to discover the secrets and the technology hidden in the base, the staff of Pax station have found themselves riding a very dangerous wave.......
Pax Station also became the headquarters for the Volkune Royalist (Revoluntionary) Movement to restore the Volkune PrimaVol to the throne of Vol'Indi. The Volkune Democratic Society, or the Insurectionists (as they are more lovingly known) sought to establish a Psi Corps-type of organisation utilising the Volkune telepaths as part of the Volkune Telepathic Union. Leading this conversion is the Psi Corps Telepath, Dr Kethric Wilcox, telepathic healer and best friend to Alfred Bester. Dr Wilcox discovered that the Volkunes first established their telepathic ability centruies ago due to the ministrations of the Volkune Prophet, Tris. Tris has been accredited with uniting the Volkune peoples by applying proper training to their newly discovered talents and bringing peace to a volatile civilization.
The primary difference between the Terran Psi-Corps and the Volkune Telepathic Union, is the Volkune telepaths had no choice about entering the program. Volkune telepaths who refuse to join the program are summarily executed. This forced the Volkunes to rely on the resources of Dr Wilcox, who was smuggling some of the more powerful telepaths off to Pax under the very noses of the Director of the Union!
Following the birth of the Heir (and a Spare) to the Volkune PrimaVol Throne, V'thtashi and T'Mar Hazan ka' have been named to the Regency Council responsible to the management of the Volkune Empire, currently in residence in Foundation City of Xil'Indi. Foundation City was built by Dr. Kethric Wilcox from proceeds we wont go into detail to explain. What secrets are hidden behind the closed doors of the board chamber? A new mission is underway. Posts to be published here soon.
