Welcome to all our new players! I apologise for taking so much time before having welcomed you all to our new mission group, but my email programme choose last week as the time to have a nervous breakdown. Imagine the nervous breakdown I had when I got the programme working and had to download 54 email messages!! Good work to all our players new and old......
Down to business. First of all, I have now read through all the mission posts to date, and I must admit I am quite impressed. Never before in the History of our RPG have so many new players written so many good posts in the first week. Congratulations to you all and keep up the good work. I am really getting excited about working with all of you.
Soo aka V'thtashi Harun de'
PS: please note the spelling of V'thtashi. It means "Beloved of Tashi" in Volkune and I am very proud of it! As people get to know me they tend to call me by my nickname, V'th. This is the first half of V'th - Tashi!

Computer, begin recording.....
I have to note that it has been a very long day so far. I was very happy with the reception Kat offered on my departure. Who could have foretold that some of his marines were so talented at moving their bodies in such an erotic and invigorating fashion! I must make a personal note to Kat requesting one or two of them be transferred to the new station as my personal body guard. My duties could certainly take an interesting form.
I am not happy with the human security contingent we have stationed here, but it was the demand of Earth Force that some presence of the Terrans be allowed on Pax VII. The humans seem quite adept at allowing any one through, regardless of their state, provided they have the proper papers. I have asked Kat to take a look at the security measures in place and to make recommendations. I have reason to trust Kat with my life, and will never forget his rescue on Earth several months back. I owe him my life, heart and family honour and would give him this honour to clean up the Pax station. I can't believe the scum allowed on the station before my take-over. I will not allow it to continue.
The facilities are certainly luxurious in the least. My quarters at temple were certainly never this lavish, and I do not know what I am going to do with all the room I have been allowed. I have already made arrangements with Tashi to forward on some of my possessions and one or two reminders of Vol'Indi which I have left behind. Perhaps the Vol can deliver them the next time they are in the area.
We have had several breaches of security in the few hours I have been here, and I have asked Kat to handle them for me for the time being. I must make a supreme effort to finish selecting my staff for the station, but am still going over the personnel records. I still have not found anyone who is capable of taking on the roles of security chief, second in command, defence co-ordinator, protocol officer and recreation facility director. Perhaps I can begin making selections by the end of the week.
My talk with Tashi seems to have gone well. Sairenn seems to have settled fairly well into the facility and seems to be adjusting to her new role as Chief of Engineering. Her report on the accident on the Vol left much to be desired, for they did not provide any answers tot he question of "who did it?". But I knew she did her best, and it at least has put us on the awareness that someone out there is out to tamper and perhaps sabotage the Centauri peace initiatives.
Can it be true that the Centauri are finally interested in peace? I know that they allowed the Shadows to use them in order to take over more territory to expand their empire, but the Shadow influence has since diminished, and Centauri Prime is now in devastation. Perhaps they may be trying to make up for the damage they have wreaked on their neighbours. It is too soon to tell. Feaf Sima has been keeping a low profile. I have made a personal note to have a word with him about his future with us.
I have also made personal notes to interview all new visitors to this facility. Perhaps amongst the new arrivals I can find the people I need to complete my crew.
End recording.
"Enter"
V'thtashi ended the recording of her log in answer to a knock on her office door. It was a junior orderly reminding her of the arrival of the crew from the Vol. V'thtashi made one more personal note to recruit an orderly, a personal secretary who could remind her of things so that she would not need to rely on someone reminding her after the fact!
Noting how late she had become, she hurried to the entrance port just in time to prevent the scuffle between Kat and the human security team. She had hoped to arrive before the crew had disembarked to prevent this sort of situation, for she knew Kat would be loaded for trouble. Oh well, another problem to sort out.
After she began to escort her former comrades to their new quarters, Sairenn ran into them in the hall. It seems that Zuzani was not content with the Volkunes decision to recruit Sairenn to the new facility. This struck V'thtashi as somewhat distressing, considering that the Minbari engineer was the one person most qualified to oversee the Minbari technology which was part of this new facility. She made another personal note to contact the Minbari immediately.
She excused herself from the crew, her friends, and requested a technician to escort the crew to their new quarters. She made a request that Rron and Kat visit her in her new office once they had settled in.
Arriving back at her office, V'th placed a hush and scrambled coded message to Tashi and to Minbar requesting formal negotiations regarding this matter. She desperately wanted Sairenn as part of her team, and would pull all punches to ensure that happened. Once the message was sent, she prepared to meet with her old friends.
She was in the process of setting out glasses and bottles when Rron announced his presence. V'th invited him in and gave him a big hug. "Rron, " she said, "please help! I just can't seem to get the staff these days!"
Rron laughed as V'th released her grip and placed a kiss on her cheek in support. "I have every confidence in you V'th. Besides, you haven't been here 12 hours yet. Give it time. Nothing comes easily."
"I know, but does it have to be so hard! I have personnel reports to go over, I have had numerous complaints about those idiots that Earth Force has sent to maintain security, and our food courts haven't even come online fully yet. And now, Sairenn is having trouble with that Minbari again."
"Relax, V'th. everything will work out. Get your house in order, and the rest will solve itself. My mother told me that once, before she was killed. I have found it to be valuable advice."
"I knew it was good for me to see you" V'th said reassured. "You have always been good for my soul." V'thtashi lifted her hand with palm extended outwards in the gesture of friendship and affection. Before Rron could possibly return the gesture, the door chimed and Kat walked into the room. V'th withdrew her hand before it could be seen by Kat.
Kat's greeting was as exuberant as could be expected of the Volkune warrior. He grabbed V'th from her chair and gave her a bone crunching hug. "So, how did you like your reception?", he asked with a slightly impish grin. V'thtashi punched him in the arm to acknowledge his teasing before replying..."how about transferring those four here to my facility?"

Samdre Tinner
Samdre was a bit nervous. This was her first time off Vol'Indi, and all the aliens around the facility were making her nervous. After all, what did a farmer's daughter have to do with space travel? The more she convinced herself that this was a bad idea, the more nervous she became.
She wandered around the new space station taking in the sights and sounds around her. Her father had told her once that she could achieve anything she set her mind to. Now she was realising that goal. How proud he would be of her now.
She found her quarters and left hre belongings there to explore. She found her way to a hydroponics garden and began to feel more at home. She noticed other aliens congregated there, and decided to take matters away from their notice. All she wanted to do was to be alone. But the garden was a huge place, and she was able to find a spot undisturbed by habitation.
She was observing the various forms of plant life, many of whifh were unknown to her, when she heard shots being fired. Instinct kicked in, and she assumed a position of stealth as she snuck up on the direction the sounds had come from. When she arrived, she noticed various humanoids gatehred around, one in particular who was familiar to her. As she watched the large Volkune male dealing with the situation, she began to relax once more. He had the situation well in hand and was attemtping to disperse the small crowd which had gathered.
She knew the large Volkune by reputation mostly and knew that he could handle anything those aliens could throw at him. She resumed her meandering through the gardens and returned to her quarters after about two hours.
She freshened her apeareance and left her quarters to check out the night life. Being from a reasonably remote area of Vol'Indi, she had never experienced a major thriving establishment such as the lounge before. She was slightly awed by its size and decor, but what really overwhelmed her was the number of people from all different species. Someone approached her to offer her some substance which she was convinced was contraband but effectively dismissed him/her. When the alien tried to resist, she merely caught its hand, twisitng the arm around its back while drawing from a remote location a very effective and deadly weapon. She held this in her other hand with the nozzle pointed deep in its throat. Holding it firmly, she whispered in the creature's ear (or what she took for one) that if she was not left alone, she would leave just enough debris for its realtives to mop up with a cloth.
The creature moved away from her at a very hasty pace.
Samdre took up a position at a table in the corner and ordered lavish amounts of t'lethan, a very potent Volkune brandy. She desired the rest of the night to observe her co-inhabitants. It was very late when she returned to her quarters, but she felt the trip had been well worth the effort. She had made some very interesting observations in her evening, most of which she filed for personal note at a future date.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And then he woke up. The first thought that entered his now very hurting, very groggy head was that he needed some water. The next one was that he was going to throw up.
It must have been fully half an hour before Torquemada was able to stand up and look about the room without seeing strangely colored spots before his face. Much to his relief, he was in his own quarters. It had been worrying his as he had been recovering that he would open his eyes and be looking through steel bars at the large Volkune security officer. Kevin splashed more water on his face and dried it off with a rough towel that, though painful, was at least real.
An important lesson could be learned from this, at the least, thought the telepath as he swallowed a pair of painkillers and tried to rub his eyes clear. Do not drink from an open glass while playing dice. Someone had obviously gotten a little more than upset at his incredible 'luck' at the table, and had decided to end it. More than likely it had been that waiter on break who had been cursing at him in... whatever language. It would most likely help Torquemada remember what language it was if he could remember what race it was. Or gender, for that matter. If that species even had genders.
Reaching inside his coat pocket, he confirmed his guess that all his credits had been lifted. It would probably take another day or so to reclaim the profit that he had won, but he should be able to break even before lunch. Slowly, the human dragged himself to a dresser that he had purchased the night before (or was it two nights now, or more? Kevin glanced at his crono and sighed with relief to find he had only been out for a couple of hours) and removed a small metal box. Removing one of his gloves and pressing a thumb to a multi-colored identipad, he unlocked the box and removed a few dozen credits. The telepath also removed a small object, rolled up his sleeve, and pressed it against his skin. The gentle noise revealed it to be a stem, and the look on Torquemada's face revealed that it had worked. He replaced the box in the dresser and, straightening his uniform, headed out the door.
<<NOTICE: This is a post from Kat's wife (as you may figure) D'Rahnya Creala who is currently XO on the B5T mission. She asked me to FW it to the rest of you.>> Subject: B5T: Letter to Kat
D'Rahnya #4
D'Rahnya hadn't talked to Kat for quite a while... And they were close enough to Earth that she was sure she could safely send a secured message to Kat. So she began...
------- ya da da da da, all the computer intro junk...-------
"Hello Kat! I know I haven't talked to you in ages! We were rather... caught up... in our last mission, but Earth Gov has requested our presence back at Earth..." she was careful how she worded things. Even the most secured recordings could fall into the wrong hands, so anything she told Kat would have to be in person. That is, if Earth Gov let them talk about it!
"Anyway, my link with Xilyra was slightly severed again because of unusual circumstances, but Xil is heading back to Earth as well, where we're hoping that if we meet in person, our link should be revived. Ya know I was just thinking about last year... Can you believe we haven't even known each other for a year? It seems like a lifetime... Well, I was remembering how we first met, and I was thinking how embarrassing it was... I never really did explain what happened, did I? Oh well, I guess I'll just have to tuck that away as one of the million things I've been wanting to tell you for so long... Well, we'll talk soon, I hope... Maybe we can meet up again soon... It would be great to see you again..."
D'Rahnya ended the letter there, and hoped it would get through to Kat quickly. She missed him so much, and no matter how fast he responded, it would seem like a lifetime to her....
Hikatuishi Creala - Post 4
Kat stared into Lanzeckiis eyes. He had taken him to a security interview room in order to make the man tell his story. The story had not been a pleasant one. In fact, it was a story of revenge for the death of his family. Lanzeckii had broken down but Kat had been unmoved. He had known too many such stories, including his own and his wifes. Both of them had lost family members to murderers.
Lanzeckii was in tears. The painful memories of the death of his family, of his four-year-old sister hurt him.
Kat began to see the pictures in his head. He had sensed emotions before, but he had never seen the pictures. Instead of pulling back, however, Kat continued further. He had seen something which interested him. Something which concerned him. He had seen a flash-by of his wife. Now Kat could see something more. Lanzeckii had attacked her! The Shadows had been in control, he could see that now...
"What are you doing?! I can feel it, I told you! You were scanning me!" Lanzeckii was going hysterical.
"I dont care. What did you do to my wife?"
"Youre wife? I dont know your..." A paused and a familiar name came to him. When he had first seen the name on Kats badge it had sounded familiar. Creala. But not Captain Creala... Commander Creala! Commander DRahnya Creala! "oh my God. Your wife is... my old Commander?"
"The one you attacked."
"I was under Shadows influence. I was cleared. Or didnt you see that?"
"Im only... a novice telepath. Now get out of my site. And dont let me catch you carrying weapons any more!" Kat felt relief. So Lanzeckii had attacked her, she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. At least, if this man was alive, then she most likely was. He had long since lost telepathic contact with her, but he had hoped and prayed that it was because of the distance or something trivial.
Kat returned to his quarters. He was amazed to discover a letter waiting for him. It was from DRahnya. He listened to it quickly, smiling throughout at the sound of her voice. He listened to it a second time, happy that at last he knew that she was safe.
"Computer, record encrypted message to Commander DRahnya Creala, ESV Victory." The terminal flashed recording.
"Dear DRahnya. You would not believe how good it is to hear from you! After I lost the link I became worried. I prayed that it was just the distance or something trivial. But after I had not heard from you for a while, I became more and more worried.
"Anyway, there is good news! Vth has been promoted to Captain and now has command of the new Pax VII facility. I have met one of your old crew here, Lanzeckii. Hes already in trouble. Fired PPG shots into a crowd. No one hurt, but hes gonna complain that I used my mental powers on him. Well, it wont get far.
Funnily enough, I have thought a lot about that time in the Gym. All the good times we had on Earth... and the bad.
"Right now, Im on Pax VII with Vthtashi and Rron. We will be staying here for a little while to help get the place running. You know, maybe some day we will be able to meet here. Perhaps for an interstellar conference or something. Maybe Ill see you soon. I hope so. I miss you, DRahnya. Never once have I regretted our matrimony. I love you with all my heart, all my soul. May the Prophets and the Forces of Good be with you." Kat hit the stop button and sent the message, hoping it would reach his beloved wife soon.
"Well, back to the job, I suppose." He laughed. He was supposed to be a guest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
G'arron was amazed of how luxurious his quarters were, "I can get used to this!"he said to himself.
After having unpacked he put on his ppg-pistol and headed out of the room. He decided to take look around this place, he went down to the zocalo to get something to eat. While he was sitting there and looking through the crowd he saw all kinds of aliens, drazi , pak'ma'ra, brakiri, minbari ,volkunes etc. Suddenly in a corner he saw someone, a person was talking to someone. He looked suspicious and were near to the stairs of the lower lewels and then he took up a bag. He opened it and the other person #2 looked at the content, nodded and handed the person#1 something. A large envelope! Person #1 went down towards the shuttle port and Person #2 down the stairs. "That's weird, I thought the lower levels were still under construction" G'arron thought.
He decided to follow person#2, he sent a message to captain Craela and G'art that he was going to follow someone suspicious down to the lower levels. G'arron hurried down the stair, because he didn't want to lose him. He followed him down to level 2 were he suddenly dissapeared. He pulled his gun and went in to search for him, the first few sections he found nothing and as he came to the last section he heard something behind him and turned around. He suddenly felt something penetrating his neck and turned around there he saw 2 humans pointing a needlegun at him and firing again. This also hit in the throat section, G'arron was feeling weak but started to aim his gun to fire as another 2 needles hit him, G'arron fell to his knees and fired the gun and........missed it hit the ceeling, G'arron tried to fire again but something hit him over the head and he collapsed. The last thing he heard before passing out was "Damn, one needle is supposed to be enough for one human and that many should be lethal, what are going to do with him, he saw my face...not ...yours..."
Well it wasn't very violent but I hope this get the intrigues rolling It can be about anything!!!!

Hikatuishi Creala - Post 5
Kat sat in his quarters, which now doubled as his office, reviewing the personnel reviews for the *official* officers on Pax VII. The NCOs didnt concern him, but he wanted to know who could be relied on. As he skimmed through the notes and biographies of the station crew, he came across a single new Volkune named Samdre Tinner. Her biography and also her references from her previous commanding officer indicated that she was very into mechanics. Kat thought of Sairenn who had left the Vol to take up the position of Chief Engineer on Pax VII. The Vol would need a good engineer now. Kat made a note on the record that Ms. Tinner was a candidate for transferral to the Vol.
The door chimed softly.
"Enter." Kat had his hand furthest to the door on the handle of his bolt pistol, just in case Lanzeckii or Torquemada had a problem. Using his telepathy hadnt occurred to him at the time. A Human security guard entered.
"Sir, I have a complaint about a Minbari. He has been interfering with the security of this facility."
"Really? What has he done?"
"He has interrupted our work and continually barged in on matters of importance." The Terran security guard sounded pompous and Kat guessed that whatever the Minbari had done was probably for the better.
"Well, lets have a look at todays report..." Kat accessed the Security logs. "Hum... I see. Can you tell me this mans name?" Kat did not allow the guard to see the information he had.
The security guard put on a triumphant look. "Tirest, sir. Tirest of Vorune."
"Thank you, Sergeant. I shall look into this matter immediately. You are dismissed."
The Sergeant clicked his heels and left the room.
"Computer, send a message to Tirest of Vorune. I wish to see him in my quarters at his earliest convenience. End message." He brought up the personnel files again and marked against the record Vorune, Tirest "Possible Chief of Security."
Kats communicator crackled to life... "Gart! Captain Creala! This is Garron Akri. I am chasing a human down to the lower levels! Please assist! Second humanoid is headed for the shuttle-bay!"
Kat immediately responded. "Received, On my way." He changed the channel slightly. "This is Captain Creala. Seal off all exits, immediately! I want guards everywhere."
Kat grabbed his nearest weapon, a bolt-pistol, and ran to Garrons location.
***
When he arrived at the top of the stairs, he met Gart. "Hold on, Gart. They may be down there." Kat tried his best to feel beyond the darkness, beyond the walls. He could feel a presence.. more than one presence. There were two people down there, that sounded right. Garron and someone else. NO. Kat could feel a third. A weaker presence, as though someone were asleep...... or unconscious. "Gart, stay here, just a moment, okay?" He made his way down the steps, closing his eyes. With his eyes thus closed, he saw more. He could see through the shroud of darkness as though light penetrated the cavity of the unfinished sections. His sixth sense drawing a picture better than anyones eyes possibly can. He could see a man, a Narn, lay out on the floor not too far ahead. He could see two men, humans, dragging something to another area of the room. He returned to the surface.
"What is there, Captain?"
"Two humans and Garron. Your brother is unconscious."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kat, Rron and V'th spent a good couple of hours going over the new facility. They discussed its design and layout, and how it was intended that the four lower levels be segregated for visiting dignitaries from various worlds. The Minbari had designed the facility so that each floor of the lower levels could be totally segregated environmentally to match as closely as possible the native homeworlds of various visitors. One level had been designed for high temperature climates, while another was fitted so that various gases, noxious to other species, could be pumped through so that residents need not wear specially designed breathing apparatus during their stay. These levels could only be accessed with proper security and health clearance. For ease of identification, badges were being designed so that each level would only accept clearance by the proper authority. This measure should also limit the amount of unauthorised access to these levels, as well as ensuring against accidental exposure.
V'th also explained that three of the lower levels had not been completed as yet, but were hoped to be fully functional with 3 months time. Meanwhile, the fourth lower level was nearly ready for habitation, and had been designed with Narns in mind, low light levels plus high temperatures. Each level also was self contained with living quarters, recreational facilities, as well as commercial space for those Narn who wished to open businesses there.
Kat excused himself after a couple of hours claiming that he had much work to catch up on and V'th wished him luck. But V'th and Rron were not left alone for very long when Sairenn once again graced their presence. V'th asked the worried Minbari what was on her mind.
Sairenn sighed heavily as she spoke : "You both, have been most generous in handling this situation. I apologise for getting you involved... it was my problem, I should have handled it on my own. I do not want to impose on you or your government..." She paused as if the words were difficult for her. "which is why ma'am... sir ... I have decided to defect from Minbar." Her eyes were now downcast.
V'th sat up straight in her chair and then stood. She paced around the back of her chair and then turned to face Sairenn.
"I hope this doesn't mean you'll be leaving us..."
"On the contrary ma'am. I would still be honoured to hold a post here. But to do so... I can not be a part of Minbar any longer."
V'th sighed audibly and nodded her head. "I understand your situation Sairenn. I know your life hasn't been easy... and deep down, I know this is what you need to do for yourself. I just hope you know what you're getting yourself into..."
"Yes, ma'am. I know what I'm in for. I just don't want to cause you any trouble, which is why I came here first."
"I'm glad you did. So we can keep this under wraps." V'th looked at Rron.
He spoke up. "Do you want Volkune citizenship?" Sairenn shot Rron a questioning glance. "I can't say that it's ever been done before. But, if you'd like. I can arrange it for you."
"I think... I believe I would like to stay -- what is it humans say? Ehm--...lone wolf... for now." Her eyes were again downcast, "But I appreciate the offer, sir."
Rron chuckled. "Anytime, Sairenn. And if you change your mind... the offer is still good."
Sairenn bowed to him, "I thank you deeply sir."
V'th chimed back in now. "Sairenn, I know this isn't going to go over too well with Zazura, or many of the other Minbari... so it's going to be tough on you. But I trust it won't take away from your duties. Now, while you get used to this... go find your quarters and settle in... we've got a lot of work to do with this place."
Sairenn nodded and bowed, "I will not fail you. Thank you... both."
After Sairenn left, V'th and Rron continued to discuss the situation. V'thtashi felt frustration that Sairenn was being forced to make such a difficult decision, and so soon after being installed as chief engineer, and commented the same. Rron reminded her that her role in this facility was to sort out matters such as this, and it looked as if her first diplomatic decision was upon her. V'th sighed heavily. She did not want to go against the wishes of Sairenn, but she did not want to sit idly by and allow it to happen.
In Rron's presence, she placed a call to the Gray Council on Minbar. After much discussion and haranguing with the council, Sairenn's decision was allowed to happen, with the promise from the council that the ex-Minbari would not be harassed further. They also agreed to allow Sairenn one last goodbye to her family, after that all communication would be refused. Sairenn would not be allowed any contact whatsoever with Minbar, no matter what the situation. They would allow her to remain as chief engineer of the facility (they could not argue that she was best qualified for the position), but no other Minbari would be allowed to communicate with her, she was excommunicate. She would still be allowed to communicate with Rangers, but only in a professional sense. It was also agreed that the Volkune government in future would be responsible for her, her actions of dissidence would have to be tolerated by them, and the responsibility born by the Volkunes alone. Rron and V'thtashi both agreed to the terms before saying farewell. In a gesture of peace, the spokesperson for the council wished V'thtashi and her comrades success with the Pax facility. V'thtashi, in Volkune High Ceremony, returned the gesture and wished fortune to the houses of the council members. Then the conversation was terminated.
"Well, I guess that is it. Sairenn is free of the threats on her life. What next?" Rron questioned, one eyebrow raised in curiosity.
"Just watch me!" V'thtashi returned. She placed a high priority request of the security contingent to bring her the person of Zuzani Zazura immediately. Then she sat back and waited. Rron, unable to bear the suspense, asked her what she had planned on doing.
"Me? Nothing. I simply wish to inform Ms Zuzani of the decision of the Gray Council, and inform her that any further harassment of Sairenn will be dealt with in the severest fashion. With all that seems to be chaos around here, it is time discipline took first place. I intend to ensure that peace is restored to this facility, or Ms Zuzani will have to confine herself to quarters for the duration of her stay. I am sure that we can find someone around here capable of carrying out those orders!"
~~~~~~~~~~
Kat and V'th were sat in V'thtashi's office discussing the new crew and visitors to the facility. He had reported all the security breaches he had been able to detect, and reported on the actions of one Tirest of Vorune.
"It seems that at least one visitor around here is interested in maintaining security. I like his style" Kat commented. V'thtashi's eyes opened wide as he told her of his attempts to whip the Earth Force security contingent into some semblance of order.
"By the Prophets!" V'thtashi swore. "Can't we even get our feet here before the smugglers start in on this place? Very well, if they are determined to get in, I want this place under lock and key immediately. Security will be tightened effective immediately. The Earth Force security contingent will be temporarily relieved of duties until they have been thoroughly trained to deal with these types of situations. In the meantime, can I rely on your marines to take over?"
Kat nodded his acknowledgement. "I was simply awaiting your recommendation. I have one platoon already in place in strategic locations around the facility, especially after dealing with the attack on G'arron. They are positioned around the exits to all lower levels to prevent any further entrance to those areas, and also I have tightened security around the various high security areas such as the engineering, environmental, and communication controls. Once I have the word, I can set up another platoon at the entrance port to screen new entrants to the facility. Also, I suggest we set aside a section of the facility as a temporary lock up for all the "visitors" which are soon to be placed there." Kat grinned his evil grin and V'th felt reassured. She did not envy any "visitors" to Kat's detention centre.
Kat also mentioned about wishing to recruit some new people to replace those transferring to the Pax facility. "I have in mind one Samdre Tinner, Volkune who seems to be quite talented in engineering. Since you seem intent on stealing the best engineer to be stationed on the Vol, I think it only fair that you find her replacement."
"Hmmm, don't know much about her" V'th commented. Certainly keep an eye on her if you wish. If you would like, I can ask her to assist Sairenn with her adjustments and see what happens. You can make your decision based on that."
"Excellent idea. Now about these others on the crew rotation, I understand you are to have a word with Feaf Sima about a possible transfer?" Kat asked.
"Yes, I have scheduled it for in the morning. I think he may be able to use his diplomatic skills to keep the peace amongst the races on the facility. We have no protocol or diplomatic officer, and I know my duties are going to be too much to handle every little detail. What do you think?"
Kat sat and thought of all the trouble they had in the past with Feaf Sima. However much trouble he had wreaked on the Volkunes, his talent for diplomacy had never been questioned. Kat agreed that it would be a challenge for the Centauri.
Next to be discussed were the Ranger and the new Minbari presence. It was going to be difficult on Sairenn to be shunned by her own former people, but according to the agreement with the Gray Council, that is precisely what must happen. Perhaps it may be diplomatic, at best, to recruit someone to act as liaison between the chief engineer and other Minbari in matters of engineering. Kat agreed to keep his eyes open in future for just such a person. Neither of them thought they would be able to locate someone to fill the role anytime in the near future.

Lakar Gomarka
Since I'm not assigned to any mission, I'm just posting about separate things
Lakar had met up with G'art. G'art had been an associate in the Resistance. But now that was over. His cruiser had been destroyed, his shuttle turned over to the Volkune goverment, and his status as Narn Resistance General wiped from him. But, amazingly, he was happy. Happier than ever.

Tirest finished his meal in the zocolo diner in peace, although he was sure that his interference with security had been reported by now. Humans could be trusted to report anyone who stepped on their toes. When nothing happened to disturb his meal he walked past the arrivals area noting the change from human to Volkune security, then returned to his quarters to find a message waiting from Captain Creala to see him in his office. Checking the computer for the location first Tirest made his way to the Captain's office-quarters. The young and slightly nervous (though it didn't show) Wind Sword buzzed the door panel.
"Enter" called a voice from inside.
The door slid open and Tirest entered, only to throw himself to the side in a Kalan'tha reflex move as some unidentified object came flying at his head. The move turned into a stance as Tirest's fighting pike extended to its full length.
"If I have offended you Alit Creala, I apologize. If you wish to do combat please draw a real weapon, a vase seems a bit beneath your station."
"Just testing your reflexes Tirest of Vorune. You're fast. Come sit down we have some items to discuss."
"You wish to know why I inserted myself into the security team this morning do you not Alit Creala?"
"For a start, Tirest."
"The humans training is insufficient for the task they have been assigned. I would say that the Earth Alliance shipped you the worst they had available. Before I stepped in they let pass at least two potential trouble makers and a score of travellers who's identicards wouldn't read. Had they troubled to read the latest criminal reports they would have stopped the Brakiri smuggler themselves without my intervention. I had access to the report before I left my security post on the "Dukat" two weeks ago, so even I am not up to date on the latest wants and warrents. If I have overstepped my bounds it was only to prevent the spoiling of the peace process that the Volkune government is attempting to foster here, which the Gray Council supports."
"Tell me about your training, Tirest."
"I had the usual training of all Minbari by the religious caste before the age of choice, when I reached my majority I followed my calling to the Warrior Caste and to the Wind Sword Clan of my birth. I have been trained by the Kalan'tha and Fighting Pike masters of the Wind Swords. I undertook my security training as a student of Alit Neroon before his promotion to Shai Alit. I have served these past two years as third of security aboard the "Dukat"."

I think I've been taking to wrong angle on everything... time to try something new.
Making money was not the reason Torquemada had left a perfectly comfortable home on Proxima 3. He had not endured the tedious journey through hyperspace in a floating-tin-can-of-a-transport to waste away his days throwing dice and making enemies. There was a purpose the Psi Corp agent had been ordered to come here.
Meanwhile, he should most likely need to find a steady job. Though the security officers may have received an impression of insolence and disobedience from the telepath since he had arrived, that was a brief glance at the dark and usually well hidden side of Kevin. Psi Corp had not assigned him previously to Proxima 3 due to anything less than a record of successfully accomplishing missions and thorough, detailed reports. Little escaped the gray eyes of the human, no matter how much he escaped the eyes of others.
It was with this conclusion that Torquemada sought out the office of the station's CO, V'thtashi. Considering all circumstances, it was most likely a bit forward of the human, despite his exceptional abilities, to ask the esteemed commanding officer of this station for a position in which he could lend both his strong work ethic and potent telepathic abilities to V'th. However, the fact that he had yet to be reprimanded for the game of steal and return which he had played with the snoozing Earth Alliance security team told him that Kat had perhaps given him another chance with which to prove his commitment to the station. After all, Torquemada never had any intentions of harming the station; rather, he had felt that his little games would harmlessly point out the flaws in the security so that a more serious grievance could not be commited. The Psi Corp agent rather liked his new home.
Torquemada put a cheery face on as he entered the office of V'th. "Greetings, V'thtashi. We have not met of as yet," greeted the telepath as he extended a gloved hand to the commanding officer. "I am Kevin Antonio Torquemada. Psi Corp felt that it would be beneficial to the Earth Alliance if they had an informal representative at Pax VII; such a project does not arise often and it is important that all parties know how such plans for peace progress.
"Honestly, I am here for more than to say hello. In some cases, it may be necessary for you to have tasks of a clerical or administrative nature taken care of quickly, but will be preoccupied by a matter that may determine the safety of this station. For this reason, I would like to offer you my services as someone who can get things done. A personal attaché of sorts." Though the telepath could probably have figured out V'thtashi's probable response from a light, unemotional scan, it seemed a better idea to wait for a verbal response, as first impressions were everything, and the agent had already made a few bad ones.

Lanzeckii sighed to himself. He had really blown it this time. He was sure the captain would make his life miserable for the attack and the recent security breach. *why cant I just get my revenge and go on with my life* he thought. Standing up he looked around his bare quarters, he hadnt realized that he still had not furnished them beyond the bear essentials. Lanzeckii walked over to his comm systems and opened the panel. He started rearranging the relays and circuits so that he could make a private call. *at least my communications and engineering skills are still intact* he thought. He stood up and activated the comm. He chuckled when he saw his handy work, on the screen it said Lanzeckii's Free Communications! He send out the transmission. After a few seconds delay his "friend" apppeared on screen."Yes" he said with no emotions."Ive found them, now I need your help again" The man remained still."I need everything you have on them, everything" Lanzeckii continued. "It will be expensive" the other replied". I have more than enough funds" Lanzeckii stuck his credit stick in and transfered the detailed amount. After that the information arrived."Thank you" said Lanzeckii, but the other man had shut off the comm. He put the info disk in his suit and walked out of his quarters. *Now I need a new weapon* he thought. After some time he had procured a new ppg and was all set. He strode out into the zocolo in search of Torquemada in particular and anyone else in general.
Seems my character really wants these guys. And Captain my char was a communications officer aboard the Victory and has excellent engineering skills, so assign him as you wish with these details in mind.Lanzeck....

Yikes! Now Im having to post every or almost every day to keep up! :o) I like it! Please keep it up!
I would appreciate it if everyone (especially those new to the Volkunes) paid special attention to this post as it explains as much about the Volkunes as possible... I dont know how much of this stuff is still valid, mind, but it was when most of us [Volkunes] joined and I have not been informed otherwise. Ron or Sue can correct any mistakes I make.
Thank you and enjoy the post.
Hikatuishi Creala - Post 6
Kat sent his report to Vthtashi. Garron was in the infirmary being treated for multiple lacerations of his neck and the Terran drug which had been used to knock him out.
There was a chime. "Enter." Lauren of the Skywalker clan walked through the door.
"Mr. Creala, I have some information about several dust shipments that are due to come in over the next few days that you need to know about."
"Dust shipments? This might be interesting. Carry on."
"There are two which I know of. One will arrive at 0700 tomorrow, the other two days later. The ships bringing them in are the Amadar and the Eleison. The two men I overheard are meeting the other men in the lower levels, specifically level 3, section 5."
"Are you sure about this information?" Kat inquired.
"Yes, I am fluent in English and a telepath... as I think you are, yes?"
"Yes, I am, but you can not scan me because I am Volkune. Even those of our race who are not telepathic have tremendous control over their minds. We can not be read by a telepath lower than a P10 and even then it is a grey area."
"I understand. There is maybe some more I can tell you about the shipments. The Humans minds were on the money. They plan to double the amount of shipments until at least one comes in per day."
"Do you think you could identify them if you saw them again?"
"Of course..."
"Good, I shall call upon you when the time arises. There are two humans in the infirmary. They were injured earlier today in a fight."
Lauren bowed to Kat and left.
Kat hoped that this new information could link a few things together... The dust smugglers caught by Tirest, the men who attacked Garron who were now visiting the infirmary. He supposed that todays transaction, if indeed there had been one, had been some kind of tester deal. He would have to wait for Garron to awaken to piece it all together.
Kat leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. Today had been hard work so far and was still hardly three-quarters of the way through. Kat looked forward to visiting the Captains Table tonight. He had heard recommendations that the restaurant was one of the best Terran eating houses on Pax VII. Kat closed his eyes and tried to cast his mind forward. He had seen visions of the future before and found it to be a very handy feature of his PSI powers. He saw a tall Minbari. Tirest of Vorune. He smiled and went to find a good sample of a Volkune egg... the purpose of which would be revealed later on.
As Kat walked through the facility, he was saluted by several members of his Marine company, each one carrying a VK-260-A Gun O Death. As he thought about it, he realised that the Volkunes were probably the only race to continue using projectile weapons in this laser age. But Volkune laser weapons were highly ineffective. Several prototypes had been made, but unfortunately, they had been unpopular with the military. Ship-board laser weapons were more widely accepted but still tended to be ineffective. On the other-hand, projectiles were powerful and accurate, as well as reliable technology from the previous century, although not completely ancient due to refinements making such weapons more powerful with greater ammunition capacity. A Gun O Death load consisted of sixty rounds of high-velocity ammunition and twelve M40 grenades. Even the LSC Vol, supposedly the most sophisticated ship in the Volkune fleet, had warhead launchers capable of delivering a large bombardment of high-explosive missiles or torpedoes.
As he looked around at his extra security measures, he felt better. The humans were hopeless but his Marines were the elite. He also made sure that some of the Vols better security officers were milling around the crowd dressed as Human traders and residents of the facility.
Kat returned to his quarters holding a speckled egg the size of a tennis ball and leaving behind some very irritated people who wondered why the huge Captain would want a single Tirrak egg. He sat at his desk and waited.
The door chimed. "Enter." As the door slid open, Kat shied the egg at Tirest who ably dodged it, allowing it to splatter on the opposite wall. He was glad that Tirest did not have egg on his face. Kat now held the vase that came with his room. Tirest held his fully extended fighting pike.
"Dont worry, Tirest. Just testing your reflexes." Kat put the vase down and proceeded to interview the tall Minbari about his previous experience with Security.
He was impressed. Tirest had served as Security before, which was a good bonus. As Tirest left, Kat sent his recommendations to Vthtashi. "Vth, the young Minbari, Tirest of Vorune, shows particular interest in the security of this facility as well as having credible experience in the field. Although he has never served as a Chief of Security before, and certainly not on a facility as large as this, I believe he would make a suitable candidate for the post. With your approval, I would like to begin to train and assess Tirest so that when I leave, he will be able to fully cope with such a position."
-------------------------------------------
I apologise for the length of this post, but since Kat seems to be in the thick of the action around here at the moment, I need to keep up with events as they happen.
*Im trying to stick to what I have to do which is why I have left the situation with Garron, Gart and the Humans to those other than myself involved. Guys, please dont KILL anyone! I need to use them in a later post.
*Lauren, if your intention was to warn Kat about the situation which arose with Garron and the smugglers, then I apologise that I found it necessary to place events in the time-line AFTER that in order to make them fit into what has and will be happening.

BRIEFING: Your mission, should you chose to accept it... what? there's no choice in the matter now <g> Very shortly, if not already, you will have a post entitled "B5P: Kat #7 - Now you're on your own!". open it and read the contents carefully. As of now, the senior staff have disappeared! In truth (although only we know this) we have gone back to the Vol. Following is the part of the post that is not seen by the rest of the crew.
...The power shut off! Darkness! confusion! Behind the closed doors of V'thtashi's office, the entire senior staff filed one by one down the emergency exit passage built into the complex to the shuttle bay where, as arranged, a Marine shuttle was waiting to take them back to the LSC Vol. Without anyone knowing, the shuttle slipped off into the skies with no trace being left on the computer or any messages for the crew of Pax XII... That ought to give you enough. Basically, non of us may post until it is decided that we return. Basically, we want to see what this crew does to find us! It ought to be a challange! Everyone is to keep their lips sealed, please! Don't tell any of the crew what is happening! Well.. just sit back and enjoy the show, everyone! Many thanks to Sairenn who's starting the process off ;o) if I've errored somewhere, Soo, you can sort it... if you're still here <g> Hi'katuishi (Paul) P.S. i hope you don't mind me telling the senior officers, Soo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sairenn had been just about ready to leave her quarters when an incoming message caught her attention.
*Great... and just as I was about to go scout out a path to the control center.*
Sairenn shuffled back over to her computer monitor and pushed a button confirming her reciept of the message.
She let the text scroll past her on the monitor, her eyes scanned the material.
*Hmmm...* She thought, *I wish this language was as easy to read as it was to speak.*
Sairenn frowned and took a crack at translating the passage. After a series of confused facial expressions and frustrated gestures, Sairenn yeilded to the written words.
"All right. If that's what they want..."
Sairenn obiediently deleted the message from her computer's databank and again moved to exit her living quarters. This time she wasn't interrupted, so she headed over to the new control/power center of the complex.
~~~~ later~~~~~
Sairenn *finally* found the control center of the colony. She knew before that she had a terrible sense of direction, but now *this* was getting on her bad side.
She stood in front of the door to the place, half expecting to find a control panel on the outside like every other door in the place. But this time there was none. She searched confusedly around the entire area, but had no luck in finding one. It only took her a minute to realise that this particular door... was manual!
Sairenn pushed the swinging door open and cursed herself and the designers of the confounded contraption.
"Of all the doors in this place, the one to my office had to be different! Now even the inanimate objects aren't getting along with me!"
*Oh well, I suppose it gives the place character...* she decided.
Sairenn entered a large, white, almost sterile looking place filled to the top with computers and machinery. Her expression soon became one of delight.
*As a human might say, 'nice digs.'* Sairenn thought to herself.
It didn't take her long to memorize the layout of the place. This was her domain. ((the reader can insert a maniacal laugh here)) Making a few adjustments to some instruments that didn't meet her approval, Sairenn finished her over view of the place. She nodded her head in approval and then turned to leave.
Now she had a staff meeting to attend.
~~~~~~~~~~~
OK, this might not go in the time line, but it did happen -----------------------------
Feaf read the message again. It still said the same thing. They wanted him to be the diplomatic officer. Why the heck did they want that. Maybe it had to do with the fact he was the only Centauri in the place. Maybe it was due to the fact that he was laying low. Feaf had no idea.
He sat there for awhile longer and since he still never heard from that Minbari he desided to go on and meet Vthashi and see about this post.
Feaf walked down the hallway. He passed many of the crew to the office. He then walked into the office and the doors shut. Inside he sat down and started to talk to her. She started off by telling him that they wanted him for the job. Even though he has caused many problems he has show excellent skills.
Feaf seemed pleased at this and was happy to be joining the upper staff. Then Feaf started to ask certain questions.
Feaf spoke, " Now that I am joinging your crew I hope more Centauri are encouraged to come it. It is lonely here alone. Also I am pleased you are giving me this chance considering some things I have done it the past."
The Captain looked at him and smilied and said, " Good job Feaf. I am glad you have choosen to partake in this job. Your skills are in valuable."
Feaf smilied and then remembered that he had to go get ready for action. "Ummmmmm I gotta go, please excuse me." With that Feaf got up and left.
Hikatuishi Creala - Post 7
Kat entered Vthtashis office. "Kat, I believe you know Mr. Torquemada?"
"Yes, weve had a run in." Kat smiled.
"Well, Kevin here has offered his services as my Personal Attaché. Ive decided to give him a trial."
"Congratulations, Kevin." Kat said politely. He still didnt trust the Terran telepath. Especially after his last run-ins with the PSI-corps. Kat took a seat and started discussing Lauren and Tirest, whom he had recently had meetings with. Tirest was of the most relevance as he was being discussed as a possible Security Chief.
Before long, Rron arrived with Rick. Sean followed shortly afterwards as did Feaf. The conversation quickly grew. "So, Sean. Did you manage to initiate that Computer Security Lockout?" Kat asked idly.
"Of course. Unauthorised access will be far more difficult now. Ive..."
"Dont tell me, Sean. Youre the genius, not me."
Various names were discussed and debated on during the course of the meeting. Vthtashi wanted the best people for the best posts.
Sairenn entered the room. "Hello, sorry Im late, everyone. I got lost on the way from my office. Sorry."
"Its okay, Sairenn. I trust you found everything there satisfactory?"
"Yes, Captain. Everything is great. The office needed a quick adjustment, but..." she shrugged as to say it was no trouble.
"Kevin, could you deliver this message to Sergeant Hislop, please? He should be... Kat?"
"On duty at the main entrance, Mr. Torquemada."
"Yes, sir." Kevin took the electronic notepad and left the room. The senior officers continued their discussion.
The appearance of the big Sergeant Hislop had slightly disturbed Torquemada. The man was very burly, not to mention down-right ugly! The scar down his right cheek did nothing for his appearance either.
As Kevin made his way back to Captain Harun des office, he noticed a flicker in the lights...
Suddenly, there was darkness! All the doors in the facility closed automatically in case there was a failure in the environmental systems. There were screams! Shouts from the darkness!...
Then, there was light. The power failure had been only brief and the back-up systems appeared to have maintained the environmental shields. Torquemada continued back to the Captains office and entered the door....... to find no-one there! intrigued, Kevin checked Vthtashis quarters. There was no one there. Neither at Kats, nor Sairenns. Something felt amiss. Something was seriously wrong. Torquemada searched all over the complex, questioned people... but it was no use. The entire senior staff were missing. Gone without a trace.
Rron, Vth, Kat, Sean, Sairenn, Rick and Feaf had disappeared!
Tirest had left his meeting with Captain Creala somewhat bewildered. The Minbari had figured that he was in for some time in detention himself for interfering with security. Instead Creala had tested his reflexes (hope the egg comes out of the carpet) and asked questions about his security training. Tirest was suppose to meet with the facility commander, one V'thtashi Harun at 0900 station time the next day. Creala assigned Tirest to work with the Volkune security currently on duty for a couple of hours, even handing the Minbari a written order for the Sergeant Hislop. Tirest made a note to begin learning at least the basic Volkune dialect. The Minbari took a look at his orders and nodded leaving Captain Creala's office/quarters to return to the main entrance of the facility. He found the hulking Volkune sergeant questioning a Pak'ma'ra over the contents of several large containers on the facility manifest. The sergeant didn't look to be making much headway in the conversation even with a translator.
"Sergeant Hislop, may I be of some assitance, I speak some Pak'ma'ra."
"And you would be whom, Minbari?"
"Tirest of the Family Vorune, I have a set of orders here from your Captain Creala, Sergeant. Perhaps you'd like to read them while I talk to this Pak'ma'ra."
"Go ahead if the Captain sent you, you must know something."
The Volkune Sergeant moved to the side to read his Captain's orders concerning this Minbari Warrior. Tirest moved in on the Pak'ma'ra and began to ask questions.
"Paks birsa calbron iska na protis masi? (What is your business here?)"
"Poc'nasi calisi taban icha ewthan, Minbasi cas. (I came to trade in new market, Minbari.)"
"Espani cosinti para nabasi mocnat kriassi nac? (What kind of goods have you come to trade?)"
"Dosa pwinissu tacmri cullis nie, Minbasi cas. (The usual, trade goods, yes, Minbari.)"
"Wantasi colissima talrina halic corienta masi. (You will have to open the crates.)"
"Tanbasi porintesa malikna parois, Minbasi nasta. (You don't have the authority Minbari.)"
"According to these orders I just got he does, Pak'ma'ra. Open the crates for the nice Minbari, else he might not be so nice. After all he is Warrior Caste and you know how quick tempered they can be."
Tirest played upon the Pak'ma'ra's nerves by drawing his Sha'ann and pointing the deadly Minbari energy weapon at the Pak'ma'ra's crates. Trilling something untranslateable in Pak the trader whirled and pressed a combination on the first of the crates causing it to open. Tirest took the scanner offered him by one of the other Volkune on duty and made a pass over the contents. Standard Pak'ma'ra trading goods, mostly junk to advanced races like the Minbari, but useful to the younger races. The Pak'ma'ra was busy opening the other crates trying to keep out of the reach of the Minbari Warrior until he reached the last crate. Here the trader hesitated just an instant and Tirest was on him like a shot. The trader refused to open this one no matter what threats Tirest issued. Finally the Minbari simply raised his Sha'ann and fired into the locking mechanisim. The crate crashed open and several energy weapons of various manufacture spilled out. The Volkune security team went into action arresting the Pak'ma'ra and confiscating the weapons as evidence. A couple of Gaim attempted to sneak past the busy security officers but another arriving squad caught them, and removed them and the Pak'ma'ra.
"Good work Sergeant Hislop. Your team is the best I've seen since I arrived on Pax XII."
"You do good work yourself Chief."
"I'm sorry Sergeant but I'm just an observer."
"You don't read Vol do you Sir?"
"No, I'm afraid I don't."
"Captain Creala made you his acting second in command pending the approval of Captain Harun tomorrow. I'm suppose to see that you get everything you need in order to do the job."
"I would be glad for your assistance, Sergeant."
At that point a human approached the Sergeant with a message from Captain Harun. Tirest took notice of this human, on his collar he sported the emblem used by Earth alliance to brand their telepaths. He also sported the black leather gloves of a working telepath. The sergeant sent a reply to the Captain's message and the telepath left the group. Sergent Hislop took Tirest asided and keyed in a security access for the new second of security using the access code he had just been handed. Just seconds after Tirest keyed in his password and made the final retinal pattern the system flickered and the facility locked itself down to prevent contamination.
"I hope that wasn't something we triggered Sergeant."
"No sir, it hit the whole facility."
"Tirest to security central report."
"All stations report power failure then restoration sir."
"Contact Captains Harun and Creala inform them that we are on our way to central power."
"Yes sir."
Tirest and Sergeant Hislop left their team on duty with orders not to let anyone in or out of the dome. They then made their way toward the central control for the dome's power.
"Sir are you aware that Sairenn has been made cheif engineer?"
"No, that will cause problems, I am under orders from the Gray Council to shun her. You will have to ask her the questions we have Hislop."
"Yes sir."
"Security central to Tirest."
"Go ahead central."
"Chief, the entire command staff is missing we can't raise anybody."
"I'm on my way to Captain Harun's quarters then have a security detachment meet me there. Tirest out."
The Minbari and the Volkune changed direction and headed for the Captain's quarters.
G'arron woke up with a giant Headache and saw someone standing over him with something in his hand and fearing it was a weapon, he tried to grab it but he didn't have the power. "Calm mister Akri, everything is allright" "Where am I" "You're in the Med-center, try not to move to much, the drugs are still affecting you're body. The Dose you got should have been lethal but you were brought here in time!" "My attackers!" "They are also here, They received quite a pounding by another Narn! The two of them have sustained multiple fracture's..." "What do you mean two????? There where three of them....! " "...Well I don't know These 2 are the only ones they brought in...." "Get me Captain Craela and Security..., And fast! I've I'm correct about what I saw the whole station could be in Jeopardy and give me something for my headache!
Hope this helps a bit
Lanzeckii still had not found Torquemada and was getting kinda worried. He had heard about some possible spice shipments so he thought he would go down there and see if it was connected with his families killers. A few levels down he reached his destination. There was 2 of the people he was after and a Drazi. Lanzeckii pulled his gun when he felt something shove into his back. *damn, I knew there was another* he thought
"Get up slowly" said the voice.
Lanzeckii stood up.
"Why are you following us?" he asked as his buddies watched.
"I wanted to find out who killed my family" Lanzeckii replied.
"Your family? Oh you must mean the Orinari family, yes they were quite the business partners, until they betrayed us." He said
"W...w..what? That cant be!" Lanzeckii cried. Lanzeckii slammed his eblow into the guy behind him then flipped him over his shoulder this had the effect of knocking all of them to the floor. Just as he was about to fire his gun on them he heard a shout.
"Put the gun down!"
Lanzeckii complied. "I was trying to apprehend these criminals...Lt" he said seeing the rank. "They are spice smugglers, and...." *he thought about telling the truth of them being killers but he wanted to get revenge himself so he held that back.
"Thank you Lt Orinari, we appreciate your help, we'll take it from here"
Lanzeckii stood up and walked to the a comm panel
"Lanzeckii to the Captain may I speak to you privately in your quarters as soon as possible" And waited for a reply....
G'art opened the door, a nurse had told him that his brother was awake and noisy so he had walked to the room where G'arron was held. When he entered he saw his brother laying on a bed shouting something about three men to a doctor. He looked alright, not at all as if he had been drugged. "Leave that human doctor alone, he has better things to do then listen to your whining" G'arron stopped shouting and looked at G'art. "Brother!, you must find the human that escaped!" G'art had not seen a third human, nor had Kat with his special powers. "Are you sure they were three?" "Of course I'am sure! And if I'm right the whole station could be in danger!" " Don't worry brother, I'll find that bastard!"
Later, a dust smuggler known as Bats was running towards the shuttle-bay, he was supposed to meet a shuttle loaded with dust.
G'arron had told G'art that he had heard something about a shipment of dust. And that was why G'art now was walking to the shuttle-bay, he thought he could investigate the area. He had talked to Kat erlier and he had been very clear about the no killing part, to bad.
Bats had found the shuttle and was now talking to one of the crew members. "You're late! We don't like to wait!" "Were are the others, they were supposed to meet me here." Bats said surprised. "We can't wait any longer. Do you have the money?" Bats took out a envelope and gave it to the other man. "Here. Now give me the dust!" The man gave Bats a large parcel. "Here I hope we will do business again soon." "No you won't" Bats and the man turned around. A Narn was standing behind them with a large Primitive weapon in one hand, It looked like a sword or something, and a ppg-gun in the other. "You are coming with me." Bats and the crew member pulled their guns but the Narn was surprisingly fast, he shot bats in his right arm and the crew member in the chest. "Human scum!" G'art was proud of himself, they both lived. But he did not notice the second crewman armed with a pipe behind him until it was almost to late. The Narn reacted, dropped the ppg and gripped the sword-like weapon with both hands and threw it at the man behind him. The man was thrown back by the power as the weapon struck the left shoulder, separating the left arm from the rest of the body. The man could not stand the pain and fainted. G'art smiled he had followed Kat's orders, they would all survive!
Tirest and Sergeant Hislop were headed for Captain Harun's office when security central again paged the pair.
"Security Central to Tirest and Hislop."
Hislop hit his link.
"Hislop here and the chief is with me go ahead central."
"You probably ought to head here to central the station is going crazy."
"Central this isTirest. Tell me what is going on."
"Well sir we got a couple of Brakiri in here complaining about all kinds of things and there are security alerts all over the station. We just don't have the man power to cover everything."
"Have you assigned the humans to anything?" Tirest asked.
"No sir we have orders to keep them away from anything vital."
"Set them to patrolling the corridors and ushering people back to their quarters. What size teams do you have responding to alerts?"
"Standard Volkune four man team (Author's note: I'm guessing on what's standard) Sir."
"Split them into two man teams, but no smaller groups everybody has a partner. Find me that Minbari Ranger Sarinth and the Narns. We're going to need every able body we can lay our hands on. We'll be at central in ten minutes."
"Roger Sir. Central out."
Once again the Minbari and the Volkune changed course and headed for Security Central. At the fast pace the Minbari Warrior set the Volkune was hard pressed to keep up. They arrived at security central in under ten minutes and had to force their way into the offices past a screaming horde of aliens. Tirest turned to face the crowd, drawing himself up to his full 6 foot 3 inch height.
"Alright everybody listen up. I'll have an officer take your name and your complaint or information and we will deal with it based on the severity of the problem as I see it."
"Who are you to give us orders Minbari?" shouted a Drazi from the middle of the crowd.
"The current Chief of Security. Anybody got a problem with that?" Tirest's glared into the crowd almost hoping that someone did. "No, good. Sergeant get me a clerk to take down these people's problems and form them into a line so that they're not blocking the hall or the entrance to this office."
"Yes Sir Chief. Alright you heard him form a line down the hall. Palsith get a pad and get over here."
The security clerk named moved quickly to obey the sergeant's order, the crowd wasn't as fast and the sergeant began to move people physically. Tirest meanwhile moved behind the security officer manning the board for incoming and outgoing messages.
"Put everybody an hold Private, and get me the captains of all the ships in orbit. We're going to halt all traffic in and out of this system if we can, but first concern is halting all arrivals and departures from this base."
"I've been trying to raise them sir but something is interfering with all off planet communications."
"Find someone with communications skills private and while you're at it find me someone who knows their way around a power plant. I want to know what caused our power failure."
"I'll try sir."
"I am Sarinth. I am Anla'shok. You called for my presence, Tirest of the Warrior Caste. How may a Ranger be of help to you?"
"I thank you for coming Anla'shok. I must assume that as yet you are under your own authority."
"You assume correctly, Warrior. I have not as yet had a chance to report to the Captain."
"You wont get that chance for awhile yet, if ever. The Captains Harun and Creala as well as the senior officers have vanished. So far we have no trace. I ask in Valen's name for your assistance."
"If I can be of assistance in their recovery, I will do what I can."
"I've streched my security forces as thin as I care to at this point. This facility seems to be the target of several major drug smuggling and gun running organizations. Since you are not security you will be able to move where my people (He was amazed to aready be thinking of this security team as his people after only a few hours as chief of security.) can not go. I need eyes and ears among the general population. Ask questions, discover information, do what the Anla'shok was trained for." Tirest's natural arrogance slid into his words.
"As I said Warrior, I will do what I can." Sarinth said as he turned and left the Warrior.
Tirest muttered a quick prayer under his breath to preserve the Warrior Caste from the insanity spawned by Valen and the Religious Caste. This Sarinth had been Warrior Caste before defecting to the Anla'shok. Tirest had noticed the Sha'ann carefully hidden from untrained eyes. He had also noted the fighting pike and its great age. The Ranger would prove useful or not but at least he was alot more help that those Shadow's be cursed humans. In the last hour he'd had to reconfigure his teams to put a Volkune with a human partner just to try and get some use out of the humans and leave the station intact. Paper work would be mounding up when this was over. Tirest turned and bellowed at one of his security officers, human of course, to find the Narns.
Lanzeckii strode up to Tirest. He smiled at him and said "I hear your in need of a crack communications officer."
"I am" he replied
"Well your talking to the grand master here" Lanzeckii chuckled and sighed "Seriously though I am pretty good and am a decent engineer. So am I hired?"
Tirest replied...
....
G'arron got out of bed despite the doctors orders to rest a least 24 hours. The only G'arron had said was " They need every hand they can get now since the command staff is gone " The Doctor realizing that he could stop him steped out of the way while G'arron armed himself.
G'arron went over to the intercom and activated it. " G'art meet me at my quarters in 15 minutes"
As G'art rushed to his quarters he saw the commotion of aliens running through the halls. As he arrived at his quarters G'art was allready waiting there. They entered his quarters. As the doors closed behind them G'arron went over to his closet and pulled out his light repeating PPG-rifle and said;" I have a modification on this rifle, I can put it on stun mode, the ones hit receive a so-called neural overload which can be hazardous for telepaths, let's hope they don't get in the way when we start using it !"
"Let's go to the Zocalo and stop the commotion there" " Sure " They went towards the Zocalo and on the way they scared a couple of aliens not to there quarters. They arrived at the zocalo and the commotion was concentrated here and at the customs exit towards the shuttle bay. " Lets clear up the crowds and give the guards a hand " G'art just nodded and said " This should be interesting!"
They pushed themselves through the crowds and arrived at the gateway. " We're supposed to help everywhere we can, do you need help " The four guards looked releaved as he said that and answered; "Yes Please " G'arron and G'art went over to stand behind the guards and started calmly, with very high volume to say; "Please back off or we will be forced to take harder measures to control this." G'arron took the safety off his stun rifle. The crowd looked at the 2 heavily armed Narns and the guards, some started to back off, G'arron continued.
"If you could all be calm and return to your quarters until matters are resolved, then you would be very helpful." Some started to back off and head towards their quarters but one in front started to yell; "I have to get out of here" and pulled a gun and ran towards the Guards. G'arron instinctively fired his rifle at him and he fell to the floor, the crowd looked scared and G'arron said; "Remain Calm, he is only stunned, guards bring him to the infirmary, and you people desperse" The crowd scattered and returned to their quarters and all the guards took a deep breath and and started to relax as did G'arron.
"I'm Impressed, your reflexes are starting to come back, our training paid off" G'art said and started laughing. G'arron followed his example and started to laugh too.
