Len Funk, a three tour Vietnam Veteran, shares his experiences with Thoreau Intermediate School students of the Fairfax County Public Schools. The Speaker's Panel program provides actual veteran war experiences to students from elementary to high school and fosters a "positive" image of Vietnam Veterans with today's youth. The program was one of the chapter's first community outreach programs.

Len Funk (r), Chapter Vice President, present $100 worth of bus tokens to David Wolpert, Vet Center Clinical Social Worker, to be distributed to needy veterans for trips to the local Veterans Hospital. Also, $300 worth of meal coupons were recently given to the Vet Center. This Chapter-Vet Center partnership to assist veterans is over 15 years old.
