PUBLICATION POLICY
FOR THE
VIETNAM
VETERANS OF AMERICA INC.
CHAPTER 227
NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE
(Adopted November 4, 1999)
1. The Vietnam Veterans of American Inc. (VVA) Chapter 227's (hereafter referred to as the Chapter) newsletter and website shall serve as a vehicle for members to express themselves regarding issues of interest and/or concern to other veterans and their families. It is incumbent upon the writer to show or explain how an issue pertains to other veterans and their families.
2. Submitted articles shall not contain language, which is generally considered offensive, obscene, or libelous. If an article containing such language is submitted, the editor shall return the article to the author with an explanation why it was rejected and suggestions for revision that would make it acceptable for publication.
3. Officers and board members are encouraged to submit articles, which address issues, deemed of interest to veterans and their families. Article #1 and #2 of this document apply equally to members of the board and officers.
4. A statement to the effect that all byline articles reflect the opinions solely of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the membership of the Chapter, the VVA Virginia State Council, or VVA National Office shall be placed prominently in the newsletter.
5. The editor of the Chapter newsletter or the webmaster of the Chapter website shall have the responsibility of enforcing this policy. Any disagreement between the editor/webmaster and the author concerning a submission shall be brought before the Board of Directors of VVA Chapter 227 for final resolution.
