2004  Project
"Voices for the Wall"

From November 2003 to October 2004, the Vietnam Veterans Gathering, Inc. volunteers read and recorded the names of the 58,245 names inscribed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC. --- the names of those who gave their lives and of those, who remain missing from the Vietnam War.

We used voices of members of the community. People volunteered to read a set of 30 names. The sessions were recorded and a set of CDs were created to be played at the 7th Annual Vietnam Veterans Gathering in November 2004. The "Voices for the Wall" Project allows us to remember those men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

On October 23, 2004, we read the 58,245th name!! Note the sheets of paper on the table. They represent the 1,942 pages of 30 names each. All read from the heart! The project team of Jim McNeely, John Ring, Marcia Stepanek, and Jim Stepanek would like to thank everyone who participated in our project and helped us achieve our goal to read the names of the men and women who died or are still missing from the Vietnam War.
