Eramosa River

I have lived for nearly 20 years in Guelph, an Ontario city which is not near the shore of the Great Lakes where I grew up. But it has a heritage of environmental concern and innovation. One block from my apartment, a wonderful naturalized park runs along the banks of the Eramosa River. I try to walk there every day for refreshment and creative inspiration.

Once again I marvel at my good fortune. I have all the conveniences of living in the city, but within a five minute walk I come face to face with Nature in all her spleandour. Once again I am close to water, which speaks to my soul. And though I've had few opportunities to travel far in my life, I'm getting to know this little corner of the Earth very intimately.
