Theo's story

Received in April, July, December 2006. Thank you, Theo, for your experimental attitude and sharing your results!

Thanks so much for putting your treatment info on the net. I've suffered for the past 3 years with it and when I was 8 years old which was 12 years ago. I had a feeling that water and soap was what irratated and made the blisters appear but thanks to the info on you posted I am sure of it now. It has only been 1 day since I started using h2o2 and it works great, my sores are only flush with the skin and not really noticeable so I am on the light side of this.

Here is some things I have came up with to help with outbreaks and to help keep the chance of outbreaks down. First stay away from liquid soap and use bar soap, I had always suspected that liquid soap is what caused this and when I only used bar soap it signifigantly cut the amount of blisters I had. Also stay away from rubber, mostly latex. For treating outbreaks it is a good thing to drink green/black/jasmine tea and soak in tea for at least 30 mins, this signifigantly cuts the healing time and for me it causes the blisters to darken then harden which when it comes off I had nice beautiful skin. If tea does not work for you then you can try epsom salt soaks as this also does wonders. The most important tip is to not let the blisters pop because as soon as they do instantly your hands/feet will start to blister really bad, I believe the irritant is trapped and when it comes out of the blister and comes in contact with your skin you have a severe reaction.

As for the power of h2o2 it has been used to remove tattoos so it's power to get rid of non-biological material in the skin is a well known fact. I hope that after a years time I will be rid of this condition as it went away when I was a child and I think once it runs it's course and I get rid of the toxin in me it willl be gone. I will keep you posted it if leaves me. And once again thanks for this miracle treatment.

Sure go ahead include it on your website. As for living with it, simply it's been a nuisance and being 8 and having to go through a complete out-break on the feet and only have steriodal creams prescribed which didn't do much wasn't exactly a good feeling. For the years I didn't have any symptoms it was believed that rubber used in the process of making shoes was my allergen so for years I had to put up with used shoes. For me now how it feels is more like a condition that only I know about and not many people can see as my blisters are small and 90% of the time flush with the skin. However I have had 2 outbreaks in the last two years during the summer time and the worst part for me is when it goes back to normal skin which is painful as the skin gets completely discolored (brown and urine yellow colored) and makes it to where my hands/feet can't flex at all. The worst part me during an outbreak is going to the bathroom and eating. During my last outbreak I was wishing for death it was so bad as I was immobilized for 3 months.

As for diagnosis it was something I one day searched up on wikipedia and I looked at blisters and there was a link to pages describing different skin conditions causing blisters. By chance on page had a photo with an individual suffering a very bad case of it then at the bottom was a link to your page. I just can't believe that doctors can't fix it yet you a non-medical degreed person has found something.

As for what I have done to keep this beast at bay I everyday would drink around 4 cups of green/jasmine tea which I saw did keep the outbreaks from occuring and the blisters themselves would disappear in about 9 days after forming. Also I tried for a long time just busting them which like I said brought them on worst. I have tried tea soaks but they don't do as good a job as drinking does but warm tea nums the site really good and provides about 3~4 hours of relief during an outbreak. I just can't believe you actually soaked your feet in bleach.

As for healing up broken patches, aloe vera really works wonders for speeding up the healing process. Also a mixture of camphor oil, witch hazel, rubbing alcohol and sycamore tree oil helps with numbing and healing bleeding broken skin. The mixture was a cure I got from my medicine man (I am a native american).

All the above things have helped though nothing worked as well as h2o2 and I must say today my hands are almost normal with blisters still appearant however they are going away. I'm only using 3% but I am sure 7.5% or 27% would help a lot more. I will continue to update you on my condition because if I can eliminate them then the h2o2 treatment can be validated as a possible cure. I will also try washing my shoes as this was what I used to do with new shoes and I think this only happens due to rubber however I have no clue I hope that h2o2 and a shoe washing will alieviate me.

Glad to find someone who shares my pain - Theo

As of today I am 99% of the way healed. I am amazed to say the least. My friend who is a biology/chemistry major informed me of something. H2O2 when it comes in contact with the skin goes under the skin and does a "chemical burn" mainly aimed at the H2 molecules in the skin to create H2O, the strange thing was she told me it can also cause blisters. I showed her some pages on the internet about the disease and she noticed it was a water problem not exactly an irritant problem. She mentioned that stuff like tea and soda (any carbonated water by that matter) are great at helping the body with over hydration issues. Today I drank some soda because I haven't had a soda in about 3 years which is how long I've had this problem reoccuring, the most amazing part is that in about 8~10 hours my blisters are nearly gone except 1. I don't know if carbonated water is the cure if you are using h2o2 at the same time but it works. Do you consume any soda at all? I don't know if there is anything in common we do/do not consume/use but if there is it could be the root of the problem. I'm going to continue h2o2 treatment along with soda consumption and see if the results are a "cure". - Theo

Today I stopped h2o2 treatment due to blistering on non-affected areas of my hands. All of the dyshidrosis blisters have disappeared for now. I did a soak in green tea, epsom salt and h2o2. The soak felt great and my hands were nice and soft for about 2 hours till they dried out.

After the soak I began a treatment with sole (salt + water in low percentage), I drink it but has caused my hands to finally feel alive. My hands are nice and soft along with the ability to sweat again. I was reading in a medical journal that many skin diseases including various kinds of eczema are caused by improper salt intake. I was right I guess by my soda thought as most soda contains sodium which could provide me as much salt as sole does. I'll continue my sole treatment and see if the results I have attained will last. I believe the h2o2 removes the irritation in the skin however proper stop of irritation is the only way to stop the disease. Like I wrote above my hands have become nice, soft and slightly clammy like they were before I developed this. My sole solution is table salt (however the journal suggested natural salts like sea salt that aren't refined) at a measurement of 1/2 tsp mixed in with 8 oz of water. This stuff tastes really salty but the results I am getting are great. Try this and see if it helps you. - Best wishes, Theo.

I know it's been a really long time since I've wrote you. Well in May I had my major outbreak of dyshydrosis but if you need a short time the get well technique soaking in ice water helps a lot to get rid of itch and inflamation. However my cure to dyshydrosis is clean spring water. I know it sounds crazy but I haven't had an blisters since I've drunk only spring water and I did tests where I drunk normal water (about 1 to 3 glasses between periods) within 24 hours my hands started to itch and produce 2~3 blisters (though small). I hope you pass this information out on your page as it is safer and cheaper than h2o2. The time it takes to be cured by spring water is about 2~3 weeks depending on your water consumption and metabolism. I hope this helps others as it has completely cured me of dyshydrosis but the price per gallon of spring water is worth it.

Hello Vera, Natural spring water helps a whole lot! I have next to no outbreaks like I used to and somedays when I accidentally drink tap water the next day a few blisters pop up but that just reinforces my theory. Like I said pricking the blisters then soaking in ice water yields a 3 day healing time. I don't know why but it works when you get big ones. However one thing I do notice is when the humidity in the air is high or hits a peak the blisters start producing themselves. I believe humidity is a contributor to the blisters, do you think? From my research so far it turns out days when there was massive rain would result in a blister or two. All in all the clean water and staying inside on really humid days has helped me to tame the beast so to speak. I hope more people with this will test the spring water and humidity theories. Wish you the best! - Theo
As for green tea I still drink it periodically. The best green tea that I have used that really worked as far as speeding up the deflation of blisters was a special kind of iced green tea bags from japan. I'll go back to my japanese supermarket someday and get the name and supplier of the tea if you want. The taste was very good too if I might add. As for sole [saturated salty water] I have stopped drinking it simply because it made me feel strange and I couldn't stand drinking salt anymore. Also too much salt makes you have high blood pressure which is the last thing I need.

Yes I heavily believe tap water has something to do with it. I went to one website that trolls water quality reports by city and it turns out that the tap water in my town has 3 chemicals in big quantities that cause skin irritation/sensitivity so I highly believe tap water is to blame.

All in all I have avoided tap water, stayed away from humidity, exercised more (weight lifting and running) and ate more vegetables. All these things I believe have reduced my blister count which even right now is only 2 tiny ones only about 2mm at the max. As for quality bottled water go with dannon or ozarka but read the label and make sure its spring and not purified. I believe I'm almost free of this beast and as a bit of proof I have tested it by using scented soaps which seem to have no affect on me at all. I hope someday it will be known what the cause of this disease is. - Theo

As for chemicals in the tap water that are my city : Bromodichloromethane (blood toxicity), Dibromochloromethane (blood toxicity), Selenium (skin sensitivity and blood toxicity), Chromium (skin sensitivity), Arsenic (skin sensitivity). As you can see there are 3 skin sensitivity causing contaminants in my city's water plus 2 blood toxicity contaminants. Not to mention my city has gotten 2 violation reports. If you wanna check out a city's contaminants and in plain english have them explained to you check out : www.ewg.org/tapwater/index.php

Well ever since I saw your site and how bad people who really got it are I consider myself lucky my condition was so lean when it became a problem to me. Now that I've gotten mine under control I wouldn't mind trying to help others with the techniques I have came up with to control it. I swear after switching to spring water for over 4 months it really made the blisters disappear. I hope that someday this disease will be gone. But hey we gotta collaborate in-order to defeat this. - Theo
