Safety Rules And Regulations

Unit Responsibility:

All commanders will inspect their own units ammunition and certify this by signing this document that they have done so. Signing this also signifies that all safety rules have also been read to the men and they understand. The Unit commander will be held responsible for his troops actions. A unit found violating any of the safety rules will be given a written warning, and will have to participate with a W2HPG safety lecture. After 2 written warnings the entire unit will be uninvited to participate in further W2HPG events. The only way the unit will be allowed to participate in further events is that the entire unit must have proof that the entire unit has passed a NRA approved safety course. If these measures sound harsh, they are for a good reason. It is everyone’s responsibility to play by the rules, and most of all, be safe.

Individuals Responsibility:

The individual agrees to assume all personal risk and liability for his actions by participating in a W2HPG event. The participant is encouraged to wear eye, ear protection and must not participate in any form of hand to hand combat. A participant must follow these guide lines set forth in the enclosed document or the entire unit faces disciplinary action from W2HPG.

Safety Rules for all W2HPG events:

No weapons will be discharged at an individual soldier at a distance of less than 10 yards. Instead the soldier with the advantage will VERBALLY CHALLENGE WITH THE WORDS SURRENDER where after the disadvantaged soldier will surrender or take a hit. Note judges will take points off for non-hit taking and shouting I GOT YOU.

No weapons will be aimed & discharged directly at any participant.

NO Bayonets are to be affixed at any time.

NO LIVE MUNITIONS ARE TO EVER BE BROUGHT TO A W2HPG EVENT. ANYONE FOUND WITH LIVE MUNITIONS WILL BE BANNED FROM PARTICIPATING IN THAT EVENT. YOU WILL BE ESCORTED FROM THE SITE.

NO USE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.

NO DRUNK AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT WILL BE TOLERATED.

NO UNSAFE ATTITUDES OR PRACTICES, OR FIGHTING OF ANY KIND.

No use of launched projectiles or explosive devices that are not approved by a Board member of W2HPG or the Safety Officer

No group smaller than 3 people may operate tactically, and such group must be working with, and or be part of a larger tactical unit no smaller than a squad of 8.

No red flares will be used at an event, red is for emergency use ONLY! All flare usage depends on the weather, extremely dry conditions will prohibit their usage. The users of the flares assume the responsibility of any damage that is incurred from them.

No one under the age of 18 shall participate in a W2HPG sponsored event, Insurance rules.

No group shall operate without direct supervision of an individual at least 21 years of age.

No individual may participate in mock combat with out a helmet. Note: when an individual "takes a hit" you must remove your helmet and stay down. They are to stay "dead" for approx. 5-10 minutes. You will stay with your unit if they move, as soon as the action ends you can be reactivated.

Under no circumstances will anyone violate Local, State and/or Federal Laws.

ALL NFA rules apply at all times.

Unit Munitions Inspection Guide lines and Certification

Blank Ammunition:

World War II historical Preservation Group (W2HPG) requires that all munitions and individual rounds be inspected and that this be signified by the individuals signature at the bottom of this form.

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO ANYONE IN THE UNIT THAT SHOOTS LIVE, MAKING SURE THAT NO "LIVE" AMMO WAS ACCIDENTALLY BROUGHT TO THE EVENT.

All blank rounds must be dry, clean commercially manufactured with whole cut crimps. "cut" crimps discharge brass fragments. Bad or Damp powder is slow to ignite, allowing for a hangfire. WARNING ALLOW AT LEAST A FULL MINUTE BEFORE EJECTING A "HANGFIRE" FROM YOUR WEAPON.

Commercial Wood tip rounds must be verified as blank ammunition. From each batch select a round and break off the wood tip. This ensures you that it is a hollow wood tip round. Using Wood tip ammo requires the user to have an adapter that will blow out debris. WARNING CARBON BUILD UP IN THE BARREL MAY CAUSE THE BARREL TO EXPLODE IF NOT KEEP CLEAN.

No mines, Booby traps, or Trip wire devices are to be used unless cleared by a W2HPG officer

Personal Hand Grenades:

Grenades must have either a soft vinyl or paper body with a Pyrodex powder charge of no more than 60 grains and the filler material must be baking soda only. There must be no staples or any metal object that could be sent flying. To test a grenade a sample grenade must be fired between the feet of the person that made it. Only then can you use them at a W2HPG event. So make 1 more than you need, a W2HPG officer will pick one for you to fire off. No grenades will be used unless a sample is demonstrated.

LARGE GUNS / ARTILLERY/ VEHICLES:

You must inform a W2HPG official of your intention to bring such a device to an event, and get permission to do so. All AFV’S will be used in conjunction with a ground guide &/or spotter. All troops must be instructed in proper AFV safety, they must not approach the AFV or put themselves in a position where they could be crushed by said AFV. These vehicles weigh in excess of 15 tons, and YOU CAN BE CRUSHED TO DEATH BY THEM.

Each man must read and understand these rules. If you have any questions please contact a W2HPG officer. By signing the waiver/registration/safety form you agree to abide by all W2HPG rules.

You also release W2HPG from any liability, participating at your own risk. Thank you for participating at our event. We hope you have a good time.
