Summary - Game 7

23 May 2000

Belle and Angie go to the police station to speak with Juan Smith, the delivery truck driver Angie had captured the day before. When they get there, they find out he's dead. Sometime during the night, between 3am and 6am, he turned into a mummified corpse - all fluids drained from his body.

Val and Angie check out Smith's apartment, and find his very large and hungry rotweiller guarding the place. Angie shocks him unconscious, and then gives him some meat from the fridge when he wakes up. She keeps feeding him till he's full, and makes friends with him.

The ladies find a delivery list in the room, detailing the routes Smith makes. There are four stops on his route, the first two already missed since Smith never got to make his deliveries...the second two are supposed to get their deliveries tonight and tomorrow. There's also a note stating that El Muerte had changed the delivery schedule, to a four day cycle from the former seven days.

They also found what appears to be a jade carving of a tooth, about 6" in length, that has what appears to be old blood stains soaked into it. The blunt rear of the tooth has a groove running around it, and there are some scratches there that make it appear like it connects into something perhaps a handle. They also found in Juan Smith's personal effects a gold ring shaped like a skull with ruby eyes. The ring is enchanted with some form of location spell. There appears to be no obvious link between the ring and the portal to Cyrus. The portal does appear to be an area of unusually strong magic that occur occassionally around the world. The women leave, taking the dog with them.

Cyrus goes down into the base infirmary to speak with Mr. Bones. He sees Speed Demon sitting by Bones' bed, shaking his head, speaking to himself, or else to Bones. Cyrus can barely make it out, but it's something about "...all my fault...". Demon hears Cyrus behind him, and flustered, makes his exit.

Cyrus can't detect any fresh magic about Bones. Whatever transformed him has run its course, and the transformation is now complete. The skeletal form appears to have some sort of super-tough skin or membrane covering the bones. It has no muscles, ligaments, or organs. Yet, somehow it can speak and move. Bones glows slightly, an eerie green. Even the hair upon his head is green, but much darker in coloration.

Bones wakes up, with what appear to be flames filling the empty eye sockets. Bones states that he'd like to call his lawyer, if he's been arrested. If not, he demands to be let go. Cyrus ignores the question, and asks many of his own. Bones tells him that he's now working for El Muerte, who promised to return him to his natural form after a year of service. As for the raid upon the mafia family, what of it? They deserved it. He also has a message for Cyrus: "Leave Chicago, or have your mind destroyed like your predecesor, Impion". Bones also said that "his friend" had turned him into this monsterous form and that he would get back at him.

Wario gets a tip called in by a fan, that the Slashers may have something to do with the zombies. The caller informs him that he say the lead girl, Slash, leaning over the zombie, uttering some words, then cutting her palm with a knife. It was at this point that the zombie "woke up", and became very active, running rapidly to the north west. Wario calls Team America, and they all head out to the south Chicago neighborhood where Slash's gang is known to hang out. Angie and Val are near there already, having been at Smith's house, and meet them there.

Cyrus can see magical wards running around the perimeter of the neighborhood, but can't tell exactly what they do. Val, Angie, and a large rottie are already on the other side of the wards, waiting outside a small store for the rest of the team. Soon thereafter, Slash and a few of her friends arrive. Slash and Angie eye each other up. Slash recognizes her as "AC", one of the few other female gang leaders in Chicago. Once the team assures her that all they want to do is talk, Slash agrees to speak with them. She states very firmly that she had nothing to do with the zombies, and that Wario's contact is a fool. The zombie in question is, or was, the brother of Sarah, one of her gang. Sarah had asked her to do something, so she was trying. It was coincidental that the zombies all went hyperactive at that point. At the end, Angie asks if Slash would like the dog, but she declines...she's got enough to do watching after her gang.

Archangel and Belle call a meeting, to go over all that's been happening. Angel asks if anyone's seen or heard from Psychout, but no one has. Val recounts her visit to his apartment a few days prior, and how it appears he just up and left, leaving his mailbox overflowing and his fish unfed.

Angie goes to the gym, and runs into Belle working out. Belle shows her how to configure the danger room, and Angie finds some of Dynamo's routines, and runs them. Belle comments afterward at how much like Dynamo she moves. Unable to blow off enough steam, and irritated by the lack of action against the drug dealers, Angie sneaks into the museum, and takes Dynamo's motorcycle out of its case, and goes for a joyride. It's a very impressive machine, and is a thrill to ride.

She cruises to the address that Smith was to have made a delivery to this evening, and checks the place out. It's in a run-down warehouse area of south Chicago. Guards out front, windows and doors on the three story building boarded up, except for the top floor, and one window on the second floor overlooking the only entrance. Angie inadvertantly blows out a nearby power transformer, plunging the area into darkness. She then moves around back, starts running, and runs right up the wall and into the third floor window. Once inside, she makes short work of the drug runners, rendering the dozen men inside unconscious.

Cyrus arrives as she's stacking the men up, one individual hanging halfway out of a window on the front second floor window, his jacket on fire. Cyrus puts out the fire, and calls the cops. Officer Dawson and several other cops arrive, as do some ambulances. Dawson takes care of the paperwork, freeing Cyrus and Angie to go. Angie heads off to the next stop on the list, Cyrus following. Together they make short work of that place, and again call the cops to come book the criminals. They next go to the first pair of addresses, which turn out to be a YMCA and a dry cleaners. Cyrus can see some faint magical drug residue outside the dry cleaners. They decide to head home for the night.

Word comes in that the Destoyers escaped from PRIMUS custody as they were being transported to the federal courthouse for their hearings.

Angie has more horrific nightmares about her past family life.
