Summary - Game 9

25 May 2000

Cyrus flies to St. Louis to visit his sister Marie Cireau-Bergeret. They spend the time catching up for 60 missed years, all during which Marie thought her brother was dead. In reality, he was training to be a wizard. Marie, a Noble winning geneticist, tells him that she's been researching human longevity. She'd like to get a sample of Cyrus' blood, to see if his lack of aging is caused by a change in his genetic structure, or some other agent (magic?).

While in St. Louis, Cyrus makes a contact at a local art gallery, and ends up making an agreement with the owner, Gordon Myers, to display some of local artist Ann Quinn's work at his gallery in Chicago. Likewise, Gordon is willing to do the same with any Chicago artists that Cyrus eventually signs on. Cyrus is especially taken with a work of Ann's called "Hope", which is a very dark piece, with a shining white angelic figure surrounded by despairing souls. Gordon, Marie and Cyrus meet Ann for dinner, and afterwards Marie and Cyrus visit Ann's home to see more of her work. She's a tall woman, originally from Savanah, GA, who relocated to the mid-west 10 years ago.

Merlin appears before Cyrus, and tells him that at this time, Kartakass would take no action to assist Blackspell in regaining his arms. The Council felt that while the incident was a tragedy, it would draw too much attention to the organization.
