Nadia Boonyarat Nimitvanit
Interview by: Keerati Sorn-in
POPidols: What jobs are you doing at the moment?
Nadia: I co-star in a Channel 5 drama called Saen Saab , co-host a game show called
International Game , am a VJ for Channel [V] Thailand and also do some product presentation
and star in music videos…
POPidols: How many days do you work each week?
Nadia: I only have one day to rest, which I really need! I'm not a machine, even a machine has
to take a break [laughing].
POPidols: Do you have any bad habits?
Nadia: I keep forgetting things. The funniest thing was
that I just forgot to prepare the Bangkok expressway fee. It costs Bt50 for me to get on the
expressway from my house to POPidols, but when I collected all the coins in my car there was
only Bt47.
POPidols: Have you ever forgotten or lost anything important?
Nadia: My mobile phone, all the time. Once I left it in the fridge. I'd just woken up and had the
phone in my hand while opening the fridge to get something to eat. I spent three to four hours
looking for it. My sister found it in the fridge. Very funny!
POPidols: We've heard stories about your favorite animal…
Nadia: Prawns. I love prawns! I don't like pets, but when I see a prawn, I run to it because I
want to eat it…
POPidols: Is there anything that makes you sad?
Nadia: Once I drove over a cat and killed it. It belonged to my mother. I was driving out of the
house and didn't see it. Worse, it wasn't killed instantly - it was suffering and nobody was
home. I left the house and when my mother came home she was very shocked and she cried a
lot. She thought that I was cruel, but I told her I was scared and I didn't mean to kill it. That
made me very sad.
POPidols: Tell us about your most exciting or funniest moments.
Nadia: One of the most funny things is me leaving my mobile phone everywhere. Everybody
makes fun of it. And once I left my high-heeled shoes on the roof of my car and drove around
with people on buses pointing at me! Or, another time, I dropped my phone down the stairs
when lots of people were watching me. It was very embarrassing.
POPidols: What has made you the most angry?
Nadia: Knowing that I was betrayed. My best friend tried to steal my boyfriend. They were
seeing each other without me knowing. I was very angry, but I had to let go. I didn't talk to her
for a long time, but now we've become friends again. You know, I don't want to blame only her -
my boyfriend was bad too. He's the worst in this case.
POPidols: Is there anything you're afraid of?
Nadia: Rats. Very big rats! I saw them in the drain and I was so scared. Cockroaches are fine
but rats are very disgusting.
POPidols: Do you have any habits that are very masculine?
Nadia: I like to drive fast. And I can never stay in one lane. Actually, I don't like to drive. I've
had car crashes many times and changed my insurance company three times already…
POPidols: Describe yourself…
Nadia: I am very sensitive. I like to have people taking care of me, just like other girls. But I'm
fickle sometimes. People say I change all the time. As for my appearance, I dress simply - I
don't wear too many accessories, only a watch and earrings and not necklaces or things like
that.
POPidols: Who is your favorite actor?
Nadia: Brad Pitt.
POPidols: And what about actresses?
Nadia: Hmm, I can't think of one, I only like actors. I'm just kidding! Actually, I like Julia
Roberts.
POPidols: Any favorite pop artists?
Nadia: Only Madonna. Not just her as a person, but her music. Every one of her albums is so
cool and different. Everybody copies her.
POPidols: What is the most memorable moment of your life?
Nadia: Something special happens everyday. Little things can make an impression on me.
However, the biggest moment in my life was when I graduated from university. I made my
mother and everyone proud of me.
POPidols: What did you dream of when you were young?
Nadia: I wanted to be an ambassador. But I never had a chance to become one, as I entered
the entertainment business first.
POPidols: Anything that you really intend to do some day?
Nadia: Lots of things. I have a lot of projects, both long-term and short-term, in my head. In the
short-term, I want to finish my master's degree. In the long-term, I would like to own a
business, but I have just started working. I have to hold off the big project for now.
POPidols: What do you do in your spare time?
Nadia: I work out. After this interview, I will go to the gym on Sukhumvit 49 because it's near
Channel [V] studio. I go there often.
POPidols: Do you have a moral?
Nadia: To be patient and fully put myself into everything I do.
POPidols: Would you like to say anything to the fans?
Nadia: If there's anything you want to say to me, please do. I take both compliments and
criticism. I put hundred percent into my work and I want to know what people think about me.
Whether they like me or not, it means at least they care. If there's anything bad, I will try to
improve myself. I will always do my best. You can email me at thenadiaka@yahoo.com or
send letter to Channel [V] Thailand, Mail Box 41, Suntisuk, Bangkok 10110, Thailand.
