Movie
Bravo: Jan Dara
Boo: Khang Lang Phap (Behind the Painting)
2001 was a golden year for Thai films. But that doesn't mean that all of them were good. Bravo to Jan Dara for its daring and artistic visuals. We think Khang Lang Phap was really bad. We're not 100 per cent sure, though, because we fell asleep. |

Actor
Bravo: Jessadaporn "Tik" Poldee
Boo: Don Teeratada
They both look great and have gorgeous muscles but their acting couldn't be more different. Jessadaporn must have been taking lots of acting lessons because this year his acting has been amazingly better. But we suspect Don must be spending too much time on his tae kwon do. He should enrol in an acting class or two ... or three.

 |
Actress
Bravo: Marsha "Pim" Wattanapanich
Boo: Nicole Theriault
They used the same promotional strategy to promote their singing careers - get on TV. Marsha graciously showcased her acting talents in Chao Sao Mue Acheep but Nicole's first step in Run: Rak Antarai could have been career suicide.

Sexy star
Bravo: Wannasa "Sa" Thongwiset
Boo: Nakapapha "Mamee" Nakprasit
Mamee tried to be sexy in her pha taeb and pha thung but was completely outshone by Sa's star turn in Suriyothai. She also proved that size really doesn't matter.

 |
MC
Bravo: Sanya "Doo" Kunakorn
Boo: Tripop Limpapath & Wittawat Soontornvinate
Doo looks good, is well prepared, is clever and asks intelligent questions. What more can we ask for from a presenter? We suggest Tripop and Wittawat tune into Jor Jai occasionally.

TV Ads
Bravo: Breeze Corporate (Asking directions)
Boo: Vivite Whitening Deodorant
It was cute and we were sure that the little boy was an NJ subscriber. Vivite should open a dictionary and look up the meaning of "creativity."

 |
Sport
Bravo: Theerathep "Leesaw" Winothai
Boo: Kiattisak Senamuang
Leesaw quietly went to England and is letting his football do the talking in English junior leagues. But Kiattisak let his mouth do the talking and came home with his tail between his legs.

Female Singer
Bravo: Thitima "Ann" Prathumthip
Boo: Prim C-4
As always, Ann's voice was sweet and clear. Prim just beat Tata and Nicole for the worst of the year. At least they have their former success to fall back on. Bye bye Prim.

Song
Bravo: Khun Lamyai (Luk Nok Suphaporn)
Boo: Thod (Triumphs Kingdom)
Great vocals. Great music. Great lyrics. That was Nok's song. Terrible vocals. Terrible music. Terrible lyrics. That was Triumphs Kingdom's. Even taking their clothes off couldn't distract us from their horrible song.

 |
Album
Bravo: Smallroom 002 (Various Artists)
Boo: Cheer (Various Artists) & The Celebration (Various Artists)
Smallroom showed us all that pop doesn't have to be a dirty word. It can be creative, different and fun. But at Grammy and RS they don't realise that. It seems that quantity is more important than quality to them.

 |
Music Video
Bravo: Pleng Nai Jai (Penguin Villa/Smallroom)
Boo: Shot (Tata Young)
This was something really new that is rarely seen on Thai TV: modern graphic animation. Cool and original in the way best indie should be. Completely unoriginal was Tata's video. She's been watching too many N' Sync videos.

Band
Bravo: Pru
Boo: Dragon Five
Pru doesn't play by the music industry's rules. We applaud them for their passion for music and professional skills. Dragon Five were just what we always needed - another crummy boy band! Even their cute looks weren't enough to make up for their terrible music.

Sweethearts
Bravo: -
Boo: Panthongtae "Oat" Shinawatra & Alisha "Ann" Laisattruklai, Tata Young & Oliver Pupart, Willy McIntosh & Gelly Ricordel, Prabda Yoon & Siriyakorn "Oom" Pukkaves, etc.
We had to give them all boos because we're just jealous!
