David, 25, is the singer with Canadian band, Moist, and was brought up mostly in Canada but he says his
upbringing was very Thai and he sings in both English and Thai on his new single Alone In The Universe.
"I've always wanted to do parts of some songs in Thai so that Thai listeners who don't speak English can get a
better sense of the songs," David told NJ Magazine.
Alone In The Universe is from David's second solo album Morning Orbit but is the only song to include Thai lyrics.
David insisted he didn't include the Thai just to make the song different from everything else on the radio.
"People can think what they want but I'm half-Thai and it's part of who I am. It's a way for me to express myself."
On his albums with Moist, David has often sung about the changes that new technology have brought to the world.
He also feels that all the technology makes maintaining the "truth" in music more difficult.
"The world is changing quickly around us without us even noticing," he said.
