“I choose Wade.” Joey said.
He and Alyssa continued choosing team members. Team one consisted of: Alyssa, Hannah, Chris, and myself. Team two included: Joey, JC, Justin, Lance, and Wade.
“Let’s bowl!” Chris screamed.
Chris picked up his ‘crazy’ yellow ball and approached the lane.
I suddenly got an idea.
“Girls.” I whispered.
Alyssa and Hannah turned and looked at me. They both knew what I was getting at.
“1,2,3.” I said.
“Go teet, go teet, go, go, go teet!” The three of us cried out.Chris smiled and started dancing.
“Why do you insist on encouraging him?” Justin asked.
“Why does Jacob Underwood insist on singing?” I challenged back.
Everyone except Alyssa and Hannah were silent.
“Umm…sweetie did you forget to take your medication this morning?” Wade asked.
“Ha,ha!” I said sticking my tongue out at him.
“Wade it’s your turn.” Joey said.
“Aww! Can little Wade lift the big heavy bowling ball?” Chris asked in a baby voice.
Wade glared. “Hmmm…remember how rehearsals were supposed to start in two weeks?”
The boys nodded.
“Well, let’s change that to tomorrow.” He said walking to the lane.
“You’re bluffing.” Chris said.
Wade rolled the ball and all ten pins fell over.
“I never bluff.” He said sitting back down.
I smiled at him. “That’s my Wade…all Nazi-like. What a turn on.”
"Excuse me while I throw up." Justin said.
“Whatever Mr. Spears.” I replied.
“Nah, he wants to be Mr. Alyssa.” Lance said.
“WHAT?” Alyssa said dropping the bowling ball. “Shut up Lance! Just because you can’t get with Emmanuelle don’t take it out on me.”
After saying that she bent over to retrieve her bowling ball.
“Justin Randall Timberlake I suggest you avert your eyes!” Hannah said.
Alyssa stood up quickly.
Justin blushed. “What are you implying?”
“You don’t want a repeat of Wade’s party do you? She’s liable to throw you down the lane!” Hannah said.
I busted out laughing. “That was so great. Spitting pool water out of your mouth.”
“Shut up Trinity! I’ve got so much dirt on you it would make your head spin.” Justin shot back.
“Like what?” I challenged back.
“Like what really happened to Wade’s CD player.” He said.
Wade looked alarmed. “Excuse me?”
I quickly shook my head. “Justin, you broke it when you were trying to make that love mix CD for Alyssa.”
“I have to get out of here.” Alyssa said.
“No one is going anywhere.” JC said. “Let’s act like the mature adults we are and just finish the game.”
“Whoa JC, you sounded like aWade there.” Hannah said.
“Hey!” Wade said.
“What?” Hannah asked innocently.
JC shook his head. “This is hopeless.”
“You all always pick on me for no reason.” Wade said. “And you! You don’t even defend me!”
“Sorry honey. Come on, we’ll go to your house and drink some juice okay?” I said.
“Even my own girlfriend picks on me.” He said.
“That’s cause you’re whipped.” Chris said.
Wade shook his head defensively. “I am not.”
“Hey Wade, this ball is too heavy. Can you get me a lighter one?” I asked sarcastically.
“Sure.” He said getting up.
“I rest my case.” Chris said.
Wade stopped, turned around, and sat down. “Get it yourself.”
“Okay fine. Guess who’s not coming over tonight?” I asked.
Wade was about to protest but changed his mind. “Fine.”
So that’s how he was going to play.
“Good, that means I can return my new red…” I started.
“My virgin ears!” Chris said.
“Nah-uh! Keep going Trin.” Joey exclaimed.
“Sickos. Complete sickos.” I said. “Besides Alyssa, Hannah, and I are having a sleepover. No boys allowed.”
“Not even me?” Wade asked.
“Or me?” JC questioned.
“Especially you two.” Alyssa said.
“How about me?” Justin asked. “It’s supposed to be cold tonight. I’ll keep you warm.”
“Hey brain-trust we live in freakin’ Orlando it doesn’t get cold. Besides what do you possibly have that could keep me warm?” she asked.
Justin was about to say something but Alyssa cut him off.
“Actually, you do have something that will keep me warm.” She said walking closer to him.
He looked surprised. “I do?”
She nodded. “Your ego is big enough to use as a blanket.” She said dropping her bowling ball in his lap.
Later that night…
“No way.” I said.
“Please.” Hannah pleaded.
“Hannah, JC is your boyfriend. Why do you insist on watching Madison Square Garden when you’ve got the real deal?” Alyssa asked.
Hannah shrugged. “JC said he’d never really lick anything. I have to live through the tape.”
“You’re weird.” Alyssa replied.
“Besides don’t you get sick of watching it?” I asked.
“Not really.” Hannah said.
“I was bored to tears after the 50th time.” Alyssa replied.
“That’s because you were tired of hiding the fact that you splurge all over the place when Justin beatboxes.” I said.
“You did not just say that!” Alyssa shrieked.
“Sorry. That was kinda mean.” I replied.
“Thank you.” Alyssa said.
“But it’s so true.” I said.
Alyssa shook her head. “This whole Justin thing is getting really old.” She said quietly.
“Sorry Alyssa. I didn’t realize it bothered you so much.” I said.
She shrugged. “It’s just that I don’t really hate him. Although he can be quite annoying.”
“Indeed.” I replied. “Besides dating a guy that once wore gold la`me pants is a scary thought.”
“Sometimes I think I feel the same way about him as he does about me but…” she said.
“But what?” Hannah asked.
“The whole player thing. I don’t want to be just one of his hoes.” She said.
“You’re right, but who knows if all that is even true.” I said.
Alyssa shrugged. “Well, if it’s all lies Justin is a mighty fine actor.”
“He’s also mighty fine on red satin.” Hannah said.
Alyssa and I just looked at her.
“What?” she asked.
