Chapter Three

“Oh God. Not again.” Tawny moaned heading back to the bathroom. She had never been this sick in her life.

“Tawny?” Emma called from downstairs.

Tawny quickly splashed some water on her face and headed downstairs.

“Hey Em.” She said.

“Are you okay?” Emma asked. “You don’t look so good.”

Tawny sat down on the couch. “No, I haven’t felt too well lately.”

“What’s lately?” Emma asked suspiciously.

Tawny thought for a few moments. “About a two weeks.”

“Girl, you need to go to the doctor.” Emma said.

Tawny shook her head. “I’ll be okay.”

“Na-uh. You’re going today. I’ll make the appointment.”

“Emma…” Tawny warned.

“Tawny…” Emma said back.

“Fine. If it will make you happy.” She said.

“Good.” She replied.

A week later…..

Tawny still wasn’t feeling any better. The doctor said she just had a touch of the flu, but Tawny had a feeling it was much more than that.

“Coming.” Tawny said to the ringing phone, as if it could hear her. “Hello?”

“Is this Mrs. Tawny Robson?” the voice asked.

“Yes.” She replied.

“This is Lydia from Dr. Johnson’s office calling.” She said.

“Oh, is something wrong?” she asked.

“We just received the results of your blood test.” Lydia said.

Tawny sucked in her breath.

“According to the test you don’t have the flu.” She continued.

“Then what’s wrong?” Tawny asked.

“You’re pregnant.” Lydia said.

Tawny nearly dropped the phone. “I’m what?”

“Pregnant. Congratulations.” She told her.

Tawny was at a lost for words. “Umm…thank you.” Then she quickly hung up the phone. Suddenly it all made sense. Feeling sick and run down. She was pregnant.
