Chapter Five

“No Tawny. No pink whatsoever.” Emma said wrinkling her nose.

“But it’s so pretty.” Tawny replied.

“Then have it at your wedding.” She said back.

“I did.” Tawny said.

“Oh yeah. How about this one?” she asked.

Tawny and Emma were looking through bridal magazines for bridesmaid dresses. So far Emma had rejected all of Tawny’s ideas.

“Be right back.” Tawny said heading to the bathroom.

When she returned Emma gave her a funny look.

“What? Do I have toilet paper stuck to my shoe or something?” Tawny joked.

“You’ve been going to the bathroom an awful lot lately.” She said warily.

“Your point?” she asked starting to get nervous.

She hadn’t even told Wade about the baby yet and she didn’t want Emma to find out first. Tawny knew she’d spill. Emma was good at getting things out of her. She was surprised she was able to keep the engagement ring a secret.

Emma shrugged. “Just seems strange. What do you think of this blue?”

“Blue.” She scoffed. “Figures.”

Emma rolled her eyes. “It’s my wedding.”

“Indeed.” Tawny replied.

Suddenly the front door opened.

“Yeah, but it’s my idea. You can’t have it.” Wade said.

“No way.” Justin replied. “I can use it.”

Emma laughed. “Have fun riding your scooters boys?”

“For the last time. That happened like a million years ago. We haven’t ridden scooters in….” Justin said.

“A week?” Tawny ventured.

“More like a day.” Emma said.

“Tell me again why I’m marrying you.” Justin said.

Emma thought for a moment. “I don’t think I should say.”

“Why?” Justin asked.

Emma shrugged. “If you want to tell everyone about what happened that night in Cancun….”

Justin put his hand over Emma’s mouth. “Stop right there.”

“I don’t think I want to know.” Wade said.

“Eh, it’s not that bad.” Tawny replied.

Justin looked alarmed. “YOU KNOW? EMMA!”

Tawny started giggling. “I don’t know. Jeehz Justy.”

“Really?” Justin asked warily.

“Yes really. But if you want to share….” She said.

“You have a sick mind.” Wade said.

“It’s all part of my charm.” She replied smiling.

Later that day……

“Okay, yes. I understand. 9:00? Thank you sir. Good-bye.” Wade said hanging up the phone. “Guess what?”

“We may already be a winner?” Tawny ventured. “Sit still Kaylee.”

The three had just finished dinner and Tawny was trying to get all the spaghetti sauce off Kaylee’s face.

Wade laughed. “Something like that.”

“Well? Are you going to tell me?” she asked.

“That was the director from Millennium. He wants me to teach Master Class next weekend.” He said.

“Oh, that’s good.” She said not exactly sure why he was so excited. He had taught Master Class plenty of times before.

“And if all goes well I may have a job as the A-Teens new tour director.” Wade said.

Tawny’s face broke into a huge smile. “Oh sweetie, I’m so happy for you.”

“Only thing is I have to leave tomorrow.” He said.

“Tomorrow’s Monday and Master Class isn’t until Friday. What’s the rush?” she asked.

“They want me to meet with the A-Teens first. Get a vibe for their sound.” He said.

“Oh, I see.” Tawny said.

“I’ll be gone until Sunday.” He told her.

Tawny didn’t say anything. Her first doctor appointment was the next day. She planned on telling Wade about the baby that night so he could go with her tomorrow. But he was so excited about the possible tour opportunity that if she told him he would stay and miss the chance.

“You okay baby?” he asked.

Tawny snapped back into reality. “I’m fine. You’d better start packing now. What time are you leaving?”

“9:00 am.” He said with a groan.

“That’s not that early.” She replied laughing.

Wade just looked at her like she was crazy.
