Chapter Seven

“Well, it looks like everything is in order.” Johhny said. “We’ll leave at 7 on Saturday.”

The final meeting before the tour had just ended. It was really happening. Everything Lorelai had worked for had finally taken shape. It was an amazing feeling.

“Okay guys, be ready in 10 minutes.” Wade said. “We’re going through the whole show.”

The guys all nodded and left to go get ready. Lorelai was gathering her things getting ready to go home.

“Wait, Lorelai. I need to talk to you.” Wade said.

Lorelai had done her best to avoid having this conversation with Wade for the past week, but she knew it was inevitable.

“Sure, what’s up?” she asked nonchalantly.

“Look about the other night, I’m sorry.” He said.

“It’s no big deal. Nothing happened.” She told him.

“But still, I feel really bad.” Wade replied.

“Well don’t. We’ll just leave it in the past okay?” she said.

He nodded. “Thanks.”

“No problem. See you tomorrow.” She said leaving the room.

Wade sighed, glad the apology was over. He was sorry that he almost kissed his good friend’s girlfriend, but deep down he still wanted to kiss her.

The week flew by quickly and before Lorelai knew it she was boarding the tour bus.

“I get the top bunk!” Caitlin exclaimed.

“What’s the big deal? It’s not like you’ll be using it anyway.” Adrienne said.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Caitlin asked.

“Ohh…smackdown.” Lorelai said.

“Just that even though they give us girls our own bus we always end up on the guy’s bus.” Adrienne said.

“Speak of the devil.” Lorelai said as the boys entered the bus.

“I think this bus is nicer.” Chris complained.

“It’s the same exact bus Chris.” Wade said.

“No, I believe this one is more spacious.” He said.

“Ohh…spacious. Big word.” JC said sarcastically.

Everyone laughed.

“Time to go guys.” Johnny said. “Back to your bus.”

“Bye-bye boys.” Adrienne said as the guys left.

“Aren’t ya’ll going to ride with us?” Justin asked.

Lorelai shook her head. “Tonight’s show is in Tampa. The ride isn’t that long.”

“Awww…our bus is more fun.” Justin said. “I’m there.”

Adrienne was about to say something when Caitlin and Lorelai put their hands over her mouth.

That night….

“Woo-hoo! You can ‘Digital Getdown’ me anytime!!” Caitlin screamed. Adrienne laughed at Caitlin’s antics, but Lorelai couldn’t, she was too nervous. Wade, Adrienne, Caitlin, and Lorelai were all watching the show from a private skybox. So far everything had gone smoothly, but Lorelai’s stomach was full of butterflies. Wade looked over to her and smiled.

“Everything’s going fine.” He told her.

She nodded. “I know, but still…”

“I know what you mean.” He said.

The show went off without a hitch, the guys were totally on and every gag went well. The audience loved every minute of it if their screams were any indication. Everyone met up backstage. Justin immediately ran to Lorelai.

“You were great sweetie.” Lorelai told him.

“Thanks.” He told her.

Everyone was congratulating each other and saying how well the show went.

“Guys, we need you back on the bus pronto.” Johnny told them.

“See you at the hotel.” Justin said kissing Lorelai good-bye.

“Okay.” She replied.

Adrienne and Caitlin followed the boys, but Wade and Lorelai remained behind.

“Well kiddo, we did it.” Wade told her.

“I can’t believe it.” She replied still shocked that it all worked out.

“It’s okay to breathe now Lorelai.” Wade said pulling her into a hug.

“Yeah, that might help.” She replied hugging him back.

She and Wade broke apart and suddenly, before she knew it, they were kissing. And not just any kiss, this was mind-blowing, earth-moving, like nothing Lorelai had ever experienced before. Then she realized what she was doing and quickly moved back.

“Oh my God.” She mumbled to herself. “What just happened?”

Lorelai turned around and started to walk to the bus.

“Lorelai…wait…Lorelai.” Wade called, but she just kept walking.
