Chapter Eight

A week had passed since “the kiss” and Lorelai was completely avoiding Wade. Wade had tried to talk to her several times, but she just kept coming up with excuses. The guys were between shows and everyone was staying in a hotel for the night.

“Coming.” Lorelai called as she ran to the door.

Wade stood in the hallway. “Can I come in?”

“Umm…actually..”Lorelai started.

“Please Lorelai, we need to talk.” He said.

She nodded and let him in.

“Okay, so what happened the other night?” he asked.

Lorelai knew what happened she kissed someone that wasn’t her boyfriend…and she liked it….she liked it a lot. But she had the perfect answer rehearsed.

“We were caught up in the moment. No harm done. It didn’t mean anything.” She told him.

Wade looked like he had been slapped. “It meant nothing?”

“Yeah, nothing.” She said.

“Maybe to you…but I wouldn’t kiss someone like that if it didn’t mean anything.” He told her.

“Look Wade it was a mistake. I love Justin.” She pleaded.

“Lorelai, be honest with me. You know you felt something.” He said.

Lorelai shook her head. “No, I didn’t.” Now she was on the verge of tears. “I didn’t.”

Wade was silent. “You really expect me to believe you?”

“What do you want me to say Wade? Okay, fine you win. I liked kissing you…I liked kissing you more than anyone I’ve ever kissed before…more than Justin. Is that what you want to hear?” she shouted.

“I think I’ve heard enough.” Justin said.

Lorelai slowly turned around. ‘This is not happening.’ She thought.

“Justin…I can explain.” She told him.

“Save it Lorelai. I should have figured this out. God am I stupid. The way you two have been acting.” He said leaving the room.

“Justin!” she called, but he kept walking.

Wade followed him and Lorelai was left alone. She crumbled to the floor sobbing.

“What did I do?” she mumbled.
