She said through a yawn.
Justin smiled and closed the door behind him.
Allison sighed. Justin was right she should be proud of all she had accomplished. She had made a great deal of progress in therapy. The doctor had also given her some good news…her spinal cord was almost completely healed and Allison had even felt some pressure when it was applied to her legs. She’d be walking in no time. But it was her mind that worried her the most. No matter how hard she tried she couldn’t remember anything about her life before the accident. Allison absently wiped the tears that were falling down her face. She was sick of crying about it, she was tired of talking with Justin and watching the light go out in his eyes when she couldn’t remember. No matter how hard this was on her it had to be ten times worse for everyone else. All she wanted was this whole ordeal to be over with so she could go on with her life.
Marie gave a sigh of relief.
Marie nodded.
Justin stood in front of the sink in the bathroom and splashed water on his face. After he dried off his face and walked into the living room and fell back on the couch. He didn’t understand why he had gotten so upset. Well…maybe he did. He had kept his emotions bottled up for so long it was inevitable he’d have to let them out sometime. Whenever he was around Allison he felt like he had to put on a front. He was afraid that if he let her know how he was feeling she would just get upset. Truth be told he was scared that Allison would never get her memory back. He missed everything about their life together. He missed the way she made him laugh, watching her teach her dance classes, being close to her, heck he even missed watching ‘Shakespeare In Love.’ He knew he was being selfish, Allison was the one who was suffering the most…but sometimes it was just as hard for him.
