Chapter Thirteen- Paint It Black

Two days later…

Felicity sat on her living room couch staring blankly at the television. She turned and looked at the phone. Lance hadn’t called her and Felicity was miserable. She sighed and leaned back on the couch.

“Why should he call?” Felicity mumbled. “I screwed everything up.”

Suddenly the phone rang.

“Hello?!” Felicity asked quickly.

“Hey girlie.” Justin said.

“Oh hey.” She said.

“Gee…don’t sound so excited.” Justin replied sarcastically.

“Sorry. Shouldn’t you be rehearsing right now? You’re leaving in two days.” Felicity said.

“For some strange reason Wade is acting humane and giving us a break.” Justin joked.

“Oh, that’s good.” She said distractedly.

“Lance is miserable you know.” Justin said.

“Thanks Justin. I’m really glad to know how upset I’ve made him.” She said on the verge of tears.

“That’s not what I meant. I meant…” Justin started.

“Then what did you mean?” Felicity asked.

“I meant that I think he’s realizing he’s better off with you then without you in his life.” Justin said.

“I’m the worst thing that could have happened to him. I lied to him.” Felicity said.

“But Felicity I know you truly love him. Everyone knows. And he still loves you.” Justin said.

“Why should he? After all I did.” Felicity whispered.

“Love isn’t something you can turn on and off.” Justin answered.

There was some noise in the background.

“Felicity…I’ve got to go.” Justin said.

“Right. Bye.” She said hanging up the phone.

Justin headed back into the dance studio.

“Who were you talking to?” JC asked.

“Natalie??” Chris teased.

Justin blushed. “No.”

“Then who?” JC asked.

Justin looked around the room, Lance wasn't nearby. “Felicity.”

“She sounds terrible.” Justin said. “I mean what she did was lousy but I really think she loves Lance. She just got caught up in something bad.”

“Yeah, I agree. But it’s all up to Lance now. I guess we can’t really blame him if he doesn’t want to see her anymore.” JC commented.

“What’s up to Lance?” Lance asked walking over to the guys.

“Nothing.” Justin said quickly.

Lance gave him a look. “It’s never ‘nothing’ if you’re involved.”

“I talked to Felicity today.” He told him.

Lance heart skipped at the mention of her name, but he had to play it cool. “Oh.”

“Yeah, she’s really sorry about what she did.” Justin said. “She sounds completely miserable.”

“Good.” Lance said, not really meaning it. He hated to see anyone…especially people he loved in pain. “Now she knows how I feel.”

“Lance, this all may have started out as a lie but I really believe she loves you.” Justin said.

“But it was all based on a lie. How could I ever trust her? It’s just like Gwyneth. All she ever did was lie to me…about who she was with and where she went out to.” Lance said. “I can’t go through all that again.”

“She’s not Gwyneth.” Justin said.

“How do I know you’re right?” Lance asked sadly.
