Prelude

By the end of this century, Jingdezhen City has been founded for nearly ten centuries, standing at the turning point between the old and new centuries, people may inquire what level the porcelain-making technology has reached in Jingdezhen. The activity titled: Exquisite Ceramics Art works at the Cross of Centuries will answer the question with abundant and brilliant achievements.

Within the two years from the January 1^st in 1998 to December 31^st in 1999, over 50 artists working in JRIC and invited from other units are creating 200 pieces of ceramics art works that will have reached the standard of collecting.

During the creating, the accomplished artists exerted plentiful decorative skills for instance: Engraving Yingqin (Shadow blue), blue and white with under glazed red, color on glaze, color glaze. Some works were made of traditional material, while some were made of new high-technology one. What's more valuable, the works embodies wonderfully the combination of traditional skills, modern scientific technology and current aesthetic tastes. The information about these products will be input into the Internet in separate batches. Under the principle of bid, museums, galleries and collectors both at home and abroad are welcome to purchase.
