![]() ![]() Through our Lancer Branch project, student employees (all FBLA members) gain leadership experience by working in the credit union. Each student is responsible for attending regularly, following procedures, securing deposits, performing accurate transactions and relating positively to customers (teachers, students, and staff). There are over 30 members involved in the day-to-day operations of the Lancer Branch. Faculty, staff, students, and parents have the opportunity to open savings and checking accounts, and perform transactions at their convenience. The Lancer Branch now operates four days of each week, during all lunch shifts. It is located near the cafeteria for easy student and faculty access. One of the biggest ways that Apple FCU has helped FBLA during the 1999 - 2000 school year was by donating $5,000 to our treasury. Apple FCU is grateful for our hard work and success with the Lancer Branch. ![]()
In August, the FBLA and Apple Federal Credit Union (AFCU) representatives meet with a teacher from Mt. Vernon High School who is interested in starting an AFCU branch at the school. Lunch was given to all attendees, the principal, custodians, and any teachers who were near by. Mount Vernon High School opened their own branch of the Apple Federal Credit Union because of this meeting.
