  • May/2001 - Present. Prime Trading International, Chicago, USA. 
    Derivatives trader; President for Brazilian operations. Developed customized models for trading Brazilian derivatives markets. Structured a 100 million-dollar Fixed-Income Mutual fund intended to invest in Brazilian bonds. Conducting the implementation of the Brazilian headquarters of Prime Trading, one of the major Market Makers on worldwide futures exchanges.

 

  • Nov/1999 - May/2001. Bacaninha.com.br, USA & Brazil. 
    Founder and principal architect. After one year of its foundation the Portuguese language website attracted over 300,000 unique visitors per month (a larger number of unique users in Brazil than America Online) and its business plan was a semi-finalist in the PrairieFire business plan competition. The plan was judged by McKinsey consulting to be one of the 50 best business plans in the American Midwest. In a difficult environment for Internet advertising, the web site received venture capitalist funding in May, 2001. On December, 2001 it was partially acquired by Globo.com, the online operations of the major Brazilian media company.

  • Nov/1997 – Feb/1999. Ativa Export Ltd., Iguassu, Brazil.

Conducted a restructuring process. Oriented the opening of a new operation abroad; reformulated the company marketing mix and logistics; oriented the evaluation and acquisition of a new computer network and software package. The changes brought 68% of sales growth, cuts of costs and economies of scale, reflected in net profits growth of 152%.

  • Jan/1997 - Sep/1997. Banco BCN S.A., São Paulo, Brazil.

Emerging Market Debt Trader. Traded mostly Brazilian sovereign fixed income instruments for the institution’s proprietary trading account. Provided international research and feedback for the domestic trading desk. Developed and implemented MS-Excel and Access applications which integrated and automated the trading desk’s data gathering and distribution process.

  • Jan/1994 - Dec/1996. Self Employed as an Independent Futures Trader.

Holding a membership of the Brazilian Commodities and Futures Exchange (BM&F) traded currency and stock index futures, mostly off-floor.
