The Gold Standard Investment Club (GSIC) was started in January 1997.
The original group was 10 people strong, located in Dallas, Texas,
with one member residing in Houston, Texas. The original members
ranged in occupations from accountants to engineers to artists.
The initial investment from each member was $250 with everyone
contributing $50 per month thereafter. The original club charter
was for five years.
Today, the GSIC boasts a portfolio of 14 stocks worth over $13,000. The group has shrunk a little down to 8 members, but the investing philosophy has remained the same. With each passing year the investing knowledge of each member has grown exponentially, and we look forward to many more profitable years together.
