City of Barstow and its surrounding Communities and on the west by the San Bernardino County
line.
THE AREA CODE FOR ALL TELEPHONE NUMBERS IN THIS PAGE, UNLESS OTHERWISE

MEMBERSHIP & PURPOSE
The majority of the membership comes from the Cities of Adelanto, Apple Valley, Barstow
(including the Marine Corps Logistics Base and Ft. Irwin)Helendale, Hesperia and Victorville.
Membership is the lifeblood of an organization.  If you live within the boundries described above
and are
Retired  or Active Duty, we need your participation.  Did you know that less than 30%
of the 105th Congress has ever served in the Military and that their staff has only 10% of former
military members. Is it any wonder that they do not understand our needs.  We lobby Congress
about both Retiree Benefits and Active Duty Military Benefits & Readiness.  We need your
membership. Active Duty members cannot lobby, but your membership of as one of the 300,000
to 400,000 members of TROA means a lot to members of Congress.  It is the numbers that count,
along with the education process we provide.
Please contact us for a membership application.  It is in your best interest to due so. The
magazine alone is well worth it.
Membership is open to: Active, Retired or former
Commissioned, and Warrent Officers of the seven uniform services Army, Navy, Air
Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Admin, and
Public Health Service or the Reserve or other components of those services, their
widows or widowers.

Our purpose is as follows:
To promote the purposes and objectives of the Retired Officers Association in their quest for fair
and earned benefits.
Foster Social and Fraternal relations among Retired, Active Duty and former Commissioned and

Murphy's Law and other Truths
To know yourself is the ultimate form of aggression.
Friends come and go, but enemies accumulate.
If you?re feeling good, don't worry, you'll get over it.
A short cut is the longest distance between two points.
Don't mess with Mrs Murphy.
Never eat prunes when you are famished.
When in doubt, mumble.  When in trouble, delegate.
Never argue with an artist
Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
An ounce of image is worth a pound of performance.
An ounce of luck is worth more than a pound of skill.
If you try to please everyone, nobody will like it.
Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
It is morally wrong to allow suckers to keep their money.
Beauty is only skin deep, ugly goes to the bone.
In case of doubt, make it sound convincing.
The other line always moves faster.
All warranties expire upon payment of invoice.
A bird in the hand is safer than one overhead.
You will always find something in the last place you look.
