The Boston Association for Business Economics, ("BABE"), is a local chapter of the National Association for Business Economics, ("NABE"). Founded in 1967, BABE provides an opportunity for those living and working in the greater Boston metropolitan area and the surrounding region to discuss economic issues with their colleagues.
Our objectives include:
- Creating a forum for those using the tools of economic theory to discuss common problems
- Providing a means for exchanging our experiences and ideas with economists working in the business community, the public sector, and academia
- Developing and sharply focusing on the contribution trained economists can make in the business firm and the public sector
- Stimulating discussion and research in matters of public policy affecting the business community and business policies affecting the local, regional, national, and international economy
- Exchanging knowledge, insight, and commentary on events in the local, regional, national, and international economy
- Training professionals in communication and leadership skills
Membership in BABE is open to all who are interested in business economics and its application to problems faced in business, academia, and the public sector. We have over 200 members on our mailing list. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers who are leaders in their fields and offer timely and insightful presentations.
