WATKINS Ellen Watkins from what I have heard from others was a lovely person that I wish I had been able to know. Here is information on Ellen and the Watkins she came from. This information was given to me by Enid Taylor Bidou. Ellen would have been Enid's great Aunt. Ellen married John McIntyre. Note: Anything in bold red is research done by Michele through Rootsweb.com INFORMATION ON ELLEN WATKINS--
1. Wilson Watkins b. November 6, 1866 in Pleasant City, Ohio. Wilson married an Elizebath ? 2. George Watkins b. March 3 or 6th, 1867 m. Delores ? 3. Mary Watkins b. April 30th,1868 m. Charles C. James - The
story on Charles James is that he was a cousin of 'the' Jessie James
(which Enid says she has never proved. Also note that my son, Jordan
James, is also a descendant of Jessie James.) 4.Ellen Watkins b June 28th or 29thth, 1869 m. John McIntyre
*Note frome Enid* I was told this was her second husband. Her first husband's last name was DeVault, and he died in a coal mine. They had a daughter who died very young. My grandmother had died prior to me starting the history. And my father had no information whatsoever. Loey Watkins died in 1956 and is burried in Buffalo Ohio, Guernsey Co. beside Everett Jack Taylor. Everette was born July 4th, 1911 and died July 22, 1939.
8. Anna Watkins b. October 6th, 1875. m. McLaughlin 9. Edward Watkins b. Aug 7th or 8th, 1882-3 (d. abt. 1886) and died when he was about 3 years old. (Information that I had on Ellen having a sister Rose and Dessie is what has been passed down to me from relations. Enid says she has nothing listed on that.) ELLEN'S PARENTS
George Washingtong Watkins served in the Civil War Elisha's father was Jonathan Watkins b. 1758 in Pennsylvania, Chester Co., near Valley Forge. Rootsweb.com Jonathan was in the Revolutionary War. Jonathan first married Deborah Dennis November 21st, 1826 in Ohio, Athens Co., He he then married Elizabeth Haning who was b. abt. 1772. They were married May 27th, 1791. He then had a third wife named Martha Elliot whom he married January 27th, 1785. Elisha and Elizabeth had 13 children and you can view them here. Elisha and Martha had one girl named Abigail Watkins. Jonathan's father was Wilber. Wilber died in Massachusetts, Suffolk Co., Boston, at Breed's Hill. Information that I got on Ellen Watkins-McIntyre: Ellen had a nephew or a brother named Ike. She had a niece named Winnie who was a Rosefarm school teacher. They lived around Pleasant City. Ellen had several siblings. Adie who married someone named Abe. Rose who married a man named Jim. Louise who they called "Louee" married a man named Everett Jack Taylor and they had one son. Mary who married a man with the last name of James. And Dessie who married Louie Cauliff. She also had another sister named Elisha Watkins, and two brothers named Johathan, George and Wilbert. *Note from Michele. Names and identities may have been confused for one another depending on which source I got the information from. It looks to me that instead of having a sister named Adie, Ellen had a brother named Abraham who married an Addie. Also Mary did marry a James, a Charles C. James and I'm not sure about Dessie. But perhaps Elisha was actually the Elisha that Enid mentions to be George W. Watkins father. Also the Jonathan mentioned and the Wilbert could be the great grandfather's mentioned from Enid.
