This is my Betta. I named him Orpheus, after a song, "Blue Orpheus"

Betta Splendens come from slow current, sluggish places like ponds, ditches, swamps and even rice fields in places like Thailand and Malaysia. The
oxygen content of the water in these areas is low, and the beta has evolved a secondary "labyrinth organ" to actually breathe by rising to the surface for a gulp of air. For this
reason, Siamese Fighting Fish do not require the same aeration and filtration systems of most aquariums.

![]() But Orpheus is spoiled |
Male Bettas build bubble nests like this,for the female to lay eggs in. This one is under the leaf of a Banana Plant. There's something in his spit that makes the bubbles not pop for about a day. |
