I, Sallie E. Shingle, widow of S. Howard Shingle, deceased,
of Downingtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania, do make, publish
and declare this my last will and Testament.
Item 1: I order and direct that all my debts and funeral expenses
be paid by my, hereinafter named executrix as soon as a conveniently
may be after my decease.
Item 2: I give and bequeth unto the Elverson Methodist Episcopal
Church, at Elverson, Pennsylvania, the sum of One Hundred ($100.00)
Dollars in trust to invest the same and apply the income thereof
forever hereafter, towards the care and up-keep, in good condition,
of the burial lot, on which my late husband is interred, in the
cemetery belonging to said church.
Item 3: I give and bequeath unto the said Elverson
Methodist Episcopal Church, the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00)
Dollars, in trust, to invest the income the same and keep the same
invested forever hereafter, and to apply the income thereof towards
the payment of the currant expenses of said church I make this
bequest to the said church as a memorial to my late husband and his?
parents, Elijah Shingle and Julie Ann Shingle.
Item 4: I give and brqueath unto Eliza Smith, widow of
Charles Smith, deceased, now living at No. 1428 North Twenty-fourth
Street, Philadelphia, the sum of One Hundred Twenty Five ($125.00)
Dollars in recognition of her faithful services to me covering a
period of fourteen years, If the same Eliza Smith should
predecease me, I give and bequeath the said $125.00 unto the
Mite Society of Heidelberg Reformed Church, Broad and
Orange streets, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Item 5: I give and bequeth unto my brother, Henry S. Mauger,
and his wife Ellen Mauger, the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00).
Item 6. I give and bequeath unto my grand-children,
Julie Shingle Ludwick and Margaret Elizabeth Ludwick, each
the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000). and I appoint their
mother, Mary S. Ludwick, their guardian.
Item 7: The residue of my estate, real and personal, I give,
bequeath and devise unto my daughter, Mary S. Ludwick, wife of
William H. Ludwick, her heirs and assigns forever.
Lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my said daughter,
Mary S. Ludwick, executrix of this my last will and testament.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this twenty-fourth day of February, A.D. 1928.

as and for her last will and testament, in the presence of us who,
at her request and in her presence, and in the presence of each other
have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
