If You Knew What I Knew
Part 4

After the ride was over, Jessalin got off and walked right past AJ to another ride. AJ watched her go and sighed. How can I get her to notice me? he wondered. Shaking his head, he walked off in the other direction.

Jess stood in the short line for Small World, smiling. Maybe I shouldn't have come here, she thought, too many memories of a somewhat happy childhood...when my dad was around. Jessalin jumped when her cell phone rang, forgetting she had brought it. "Hello?" she asked, stepping out of line.

"Jessalin?" A voice barked.

Her eyes widened. "Father?"

"Where are you young lady? Why aren't you at home where you're supposed to be?" he asked.

"I'm....I'm....I'm sorry Father," she whimpered. "I needed to get out. I..."

"Stop," he snapped. "I don't wanna hear it."

"I'm sorry Father," she whispered.

"Yea. Anyway. I'll be home early, so make sure you have dinner ready by 6, no later. And I want spinach pizza," he instructing her, knowing she hated spinach pizza. She grimaced.

"All right Father. Consider it done," she sighed.

"That's a good girl," he said, hanging up the phone. She closed her eyes in an attempt to stop the hot tears from falling. After taking a few quick breaths, Jess stood up. Looking at her watch, she realized it was 11:30. I'll probably have to leave hear around 3:30, 4-ish if i want to be home in plenty of time to have the pizza made.

Jessa walked back into the short line for Small World, smiling at the sights around her.

AJ wandered around the park, every so often going on a ride. He looked longingly at one of his childhood favorites, Small World. But She was in the line. With the way his heart raced every time he saw her, he was almost afraid of what might happen if he got on the boat with her.
