Chapter 5- Licorice

We drove over to the pharmacy and dropped Jess off. That girl is something, I thought smiling. Brian sighed happily.

"Brian's in love...." Nick teased. Brian looked up at Nick.

"Yes, I am." he said. Wow. Love? Already? They bearly know each other. I guess it was like love at first sight or something. Oh, well.

"She is a great girl," Kev said, smiling at his cousin's expression when he said that.

"Oh, man. She's more than great. She's perfect!" he said, getting a dreamy look on his face.

"Not quite. She has that blonde ditz flaw." Howie laughed.

"Hey!" Brian laughed. "But that's what makes her her. I love her anyways."

"I can tell." I said, smirking at him. He rolled his eyes at me.

"You guys know she's perfect for me." Brian smiled.

"Oh, we know Bri," Nick laughed. "Then again," he added sadly, "That's what you said about Shelly."

"Jess is different," Brian replied quietly, looking out the window.

"We know B. Don't worry, we like her." I comforted, making Brian laugh.

I jumped out of the limo, and ran into the store. I walked over to the desk, looking for someone who worked there.

"Can I help you?" the clerk asked me after coming up while I was in a daze.

"Oh, sorry. Hoppe." I replied snapping quickly out of the daydream. The clerk nodded, and looked for the perscription.

"Jessica?" he asked.

"Yea, that's me." He smiled and handed me the bag. I quickly paid and looked around the store. Where are they??? Here they are. I grabbed what I wanted and went to pay for them. I sighed as I walked next door to the pet shop. How long does the interview take? It's been half hour already. I looked at the poor puppies in thier tiny cages. I walked past a terrier mix, a yorkie, and a dauchsund before I saw her. The cutest little black lab puppy was staring up at my with innocent brown eyes. "Oh, my God...." I whispered as I saw her. I had to have this puppy! I looked for a person who worked there and asked if I could play with the puppy.

"Of course." The lady smiled as she went back and got the puppy.

"Thanks." she nodded. I took the into the little room. All of a sudden Brian's cell rang. He had given it to me and said he would call when they were on their way. Should I answer it? It might not be him.... Oh, what the hell. I pulled it out. "Hello?"

"Jessie?" A sexy voice asked. I smiled. Wow. Jessie.

"That depends. Bri?" I giggled. He laughed.

"Yup. We're on our way."

"K, I'm in the pet store." I laughed as the puppy licked my face.

"What's so funny?"

"The puppy that I'm playing with right now." I replied, trying to push the puppy away from my face as she licked me.

"Oh. I'll see you soon. Bye, Jessi."

"Buh-bye, Bri!" I smiled and hung up the phone. Ten minutes later, Brian walked in. He smiled as he saw me with the puppy.

"It's adorable." He smiled. I looked up.

"Hey, Bri. Isn't she the sweetest?"

"Yea, sure." He laughed. I gently kissed the puppy's nose, and stood up.

"Bye bye Licorice," I whispered to the puppy.

*Brian*

She really likes that puppy. I have to get it for her..I just have to. "Jessie, I'll buy her for you." Her eyes widened.

"You don't have to baby!"

"Yes I do!" I laughed.

"You're too sweet!" She laughed, kissing my cheek. Wow...........

"Come on." I smiled, and led her to the register. We quickly paid for the puppy. As we walked in the car, the guys looked up surprised.

"A puppy?" Kevin asked. Jessie laughed.

"That's what she looks like. Even I know that!" Howie shook his head.

"Wow. She knows what a puppy is."

Smaking him on the head, she replied, "Shut up!!!!!!"

"So where did she come from?" Nick asked.

I rolled my eyes. "From her mother, blondie."

"No, I mean..."

"I know what you mean." Jessie replied. "You mean how did I get her."

"Special blonde communication." Howie laughed. Jessie and Nick stuck their tounges out at him.

"Well," she explained. Or should I say, started to explain.

"I bought her for her." I said, looking at Jessie.

"You bought her for her? What?" AJ asked.

Sighing hoplessly at AJ, I replied. "I bought her, as in the puppy, for her, as in Jessie."

'Who's Jessi? I only know a Jessica in here. Are you cheating on her?" Howie asked in a semi serious tone of voice. I laughed.

"Howie, I think you have a bit of blonde blood in you," Jessi laughed. Howie looked shocked.

"ME?? AH! NO!! ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!!" he laughed. The puppy started to whimper. Jessie petted her.

"Howie, now look what you've done. You've scared the poor thing." she smiled.

"Oh. Oops." Howie gently took Licorice from Jessi. He looked at Licorice. "I'm sorry little puppy. Your mama was trying to scare me." We all laughed. The puppy tried to nip at Howie's nose.

"Haha! Licorice doesn't like you!" Jessi laughed, Howie looked disappointed and handed Licorice back to jessi. Oh, Jessi...sigh.. Jessi looked over at me. "What's wrong baby?" she asked me.

"Awwwwwwww" Nick laughed.

"It was a happy sigh," I explained, ignoring Nick.

Smiling and kissing me on the cheek, she said, relieved, "Good." Nick took Licorice from her as Jessi leaned towards me and gave me a quick kiss on the lips. I pulled her back, and she wrapped her arms wround my neck. The world seemed to diappear from around us as we kissed.

"Um, guys?" Kev asked. Quickly we pulled apart and blushed.

"Sorry." I muttered.

"It's ok."

"Just be glad that I took Licorice from yoou first!" Nick laughed.

"I guess." I replied, smiling at Jessie. She smiled back. "Jessie, do you wanna come to the concert and stuff tongiht?"

She sighed. "Normally, I would jump at the chance. But right now I'm so tired..It's been a really long day for me."

"Yea, it has. You can sleep in my bed, if you'd like. I don't mind the couch." I suggested. Jessi nodded, looking at something. She seemed nervous or something. "What's wrong, honey?"

Sighing, she replied, "Nothing much." My face clouded over slightly. Why won't she tell me????? "Oh, ok." I said, putting my arm around her shouldder.
