Music is getting worse... Not better. I'm targeting this at Slipsnot... Shouting down a mic is not called singing. Same as waving your arms around and 'MCing' into a mic (Yes, I'm talking to you So Soft Cru). Really, music comes from carefully written lyrics and a good understanding of how music is structured. 3 chords and a deep bass line is not well structured music (Yep, I'm talking to you rapping scum, Dr. Dre).
But Not ALL music is bad. Sure 90% is commercial shite brought out to make the little kiddies spend their pocket money (*cough* Hear'Say *cough*). However, whats important is the music. So lets not let the crappy people spoil artist's that are talented.
