Allen
Dominguez was Larry's best friend during the last year and a half of Allen's life. We were Allen's roommates for awhile towards the end of his life. We went to places together all the time. We also took several extended trips together to Dallas, Texas in 1991, and Los Angeles, San Francisco and Santa Cruz, California in 1992.
Allen remains in the hearts and minds of many friends and family members, in Santa Fe, Dallas, and Los Angeles. |

Allen described some of his views on
life in the following poem:
"I’ve come on this journey looking for
an answer.
Looking along mile by mile,
Seeking and searching, tossing and turning,
Passing people, stopping sometimes, sometimes
not,
Listening and hearing, wanting and needing,
Coming to and drawing conclusions,
Only to change these at another time,
Laughing and loving, taking chances on
others,
Wishing and fulfilling, creating and
concluding,
Accepting along the way."

"Needing and hoping. Being responsible
For now, and what has been.
They’re all but experiences,
Not necessarily good or bad,
Happy or sad.
You see its all in the journey,
Hoping not to reach the destination,
For the destination itself is death
And the journey life."

"Now I see myself at the top of
the mountain
Looking back on what has been,
Needing to look inside for that answer,
Asking that which
But the essence of my being and stature:
Where do I go and whom do I touch?
Whom do I hurt and whom do I love?
What can I be and where to go?
Knowing whatever is chosen is
The first step to our goal." |

shortly before his death |
"Because you see its all in the journey
Laughing and loving, hurting and screaming,
Touching and kissing, happy and beaming,
And not necessarily in the destination."
