Yanshan Petrochemical Group (YSPGC) takes Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. as its parent company and wholly owned subsidiaries and controlled subsidiaries as its subsidiaries and is the conglomerate and transregional large-scale enterprise group combining with other legal persons of enterprises, institutions and society bodies under the principles of mutual benefit, voluntariness and common development.

YSPGC's core business is petrochemical industry with 88 sets of production plants and 71 sets of subsidiary units producing 158 kinds with 440 grades of petrochemical products, processing 9.5 million MTA of crude oil and 660,000MTA of ethylene. It is at present the biggest producer of ethylene, plastics & resins, synthetic rubber, basic organic chemical raw materials and chemical fiber carpet in China. "YANSHAN" brand petrochemical products enjoy a very good reputation both at home and abroad for the complete brands big batch and superior quality.

YSPGC is the petrochemical base with complete function Besides production and operation of petrochemical products, the Group is capable of undertaking the development of petrochemical technology, planning and design, construction and installation, equipment and instrument manufacturing and repairing, as well as training of all kinds of specialists.

Since the establishment of BYPGC in 1969, it has achieved more than 300 items of achievements in scientific research with an achievements conversion ratio reached by 60%. Up to now BYPGC has owned 114 items of the state patents, self-developed proprietary technology with advanced international level has begun to export abroad since 1986 and thus created a precedent for the complete set of petrochemical technology licensed from China. In the management aspect, BYPGC has been keeping on the combination of heredity and innovation to formal management system and method with Chinese characteristic and petrochemical industry features, so as to have its management level improved continuously, In 1996 BYPGC won the highest prize of China Enterprise Management the Golden Horse Cup. BYPGC has been consistently insisting on the stressed managing both material civilization and spirit civilization and has trained a group of workers and staff  team with all types of work, complete set of specialty, good political quality and high professional skill and has laid a good foundation for the development of the enterprise.

Utilities   

YSPGC owns complete sets of utility system to ensure the supply of water, electricity and steam in Yanshan area and improve its environment quality.

YSPGC has two water sources of underground water and the earth's surface water. Four water sources land have been built for underground water while the earth's surface water comes from Miyun reservoir which supplies 160 million cubic meters of water annually and could meet YSPGC's water demand.

There are two power supply in YSPGC, and four stand-by power stations built for self- generation electricity system with a total installed capacity of 145,6 MW. 360 million KWH electricity was self-generated in 1996 with an electricity-generated capacity accounted for about 25% of total electricity consumed. BYPGC purchases electricity from outside Yanshan, the Beijing, Tianjin, Tangshan electricity networks by a total installed capacity of transformer of 480 MVA. There are 85 sets of substation and distribution houses with 6KV or more of voltage range.  

 There are totally 24 production boilers in YSPGC's steam supply system with a rated pressure of 2425 tons/hour.

YSPGC has been working hard for the construction of advanced world level "Clean Factory". There are 58 sets of wastewater treatment plants, 14 sets of waste gas treatment plants and 12 sets of solid waste treatment plants in YSPGC right now. While the production scale was greatly expanded, processing depth gradually improved, the discharge pollutants was not increased but reduced year by year. Not only the treated water has reached class 2 water quality standard of the state but also the air has reached class 2 standard made by the state.
