The Story of Canster
In a land called Winzor, much unrest had arisen to be moving on to more land. After many meetings of elders and advisors, the wizards of Winzor sent out ships to sail the seas in search of other lands. On board were several human wizards and half-ling farmers. By chance, these ships landed at the harbor of a land this island, naming it New Winzor. This island was already inhabited, though, by a number of elvish clerics and dwarven miners who called the island Canster. These natives welcomed the new comers. Many of the natives freely gave to the new comers.
However, these new comers also crowded the natives and some of the natives didn't like that. Many plans were made to send the foreigners away, but all were conquered by the invaders. Soon, the foreigners' land on Canster grew. New Winzor finally came to a halt at a mountain range seperating the East and West, with only a small pass through the middle. It is here where the history ends, and the beginning starts.
Common Knowledge About New Winzor
New Winzor is the human and half-ling side of Canster. The ships first landed at what is now Chase. From here, another city was formed named New Gallant. All other cities existed before the humans and half-lings arrived.
River Pass is the well known gate that seperates New Winzor from Canster. Most messages are sent by Homing Pigeons, brought in from Winzor.
Common Knowledge About Mainland Canster
All the natives believe in the local forest god. This god also demands all wooden houses be made with as little harm to the trees as possible. The priests often meet during the Spring and Fall equinoxes.
