The 'Word of the Week' is:

"fervid"

Again, I wrote this on a Monday morning. Amazingly enough, someone did read through last week's word (and then proceed to read all the previous efforts) so I can only assume that they are looking forward to this week's word.

Here's the definition for fervid.

fervid / adj.
1 ardent, intense.
2 poet. hot, glowing.
fervidly adv.
[Latin fervidus (as fervent)]

I could use this word to express my fervid anticipation of an update of Samba de Amigo.

Or, I could point out that while I play the aforementioned game, I shake those maracas in a fervid, crazed state.

The word fervent is a synonym of fervid.

Here's the definition for fervent.

fervent / adj.
1 ardent, impassioned, intense (fervent admirer; fervent hatred).
2 hot, glowing.
fervency n.
fervently adv.
[Middle English via Old French from Latin fervere ‘boil’]

The noun of these adjectives is fervour.

Here's the definition for fervour.

fervour / n. (US fervor)
1 vehemence, passion, zeal.
2 a glowing condition; intense heat.
[Middle English via Old French from Latin fervor -oris (as fervent)]

Although there has been a great lack of fervour in the writing for this week's 'Word of the Week' section, I assure you that some other parts of the site are more fervent.

For example, this poem was fervidly written and I feel that it shows. Tell me what you think.

Also, while I'm in a fervour, talking about the rest of my site, this game is pretty good and a fervid anticipation is swelling up for the next sequel, which will introduce many more elements.

As always, any contributions are greatly appreciated, whether they come in the form of corrections, suggestions, sentences featuring this week's word, or whatever. Just e-mail me.
