The 'Word of the Week' is:

"resplendent"

I would like to start improving these 'words of the week' and working out some fun stuff to do with them, since I really can't keep thinking of interesting things to say.

(Some would suggest that I never could but...)

Firstly, I'm going to let you lot suggest your own words of the week. Whether it's got a funky meaning, a funky sound, or whatever, just e-mail me the word and I'll seriously consider it. Credit will, of course be given.

I'm not trying to get you lot to do work for me - it's really not that hard to find a decent word.

I just thought it'd be nice to get other people involved.

Here's the definition for this week's word.

resplendent / adj.
brilliant; dazzlingly or gloriously bright.
resplendence n.
resplendency n.
resplendently adv.
[Middle English from Latin resplendere (as re-, splendere ‘glitter’)]

The former meaning seems to be more often used than the second. Of course, a halo could be called both bright and brilliant.

Actually, I'm struggling to explain it any better, or to elaborate on it or anything like that.

I tell you what. Why don't you lot write a sentece involving this week's word and I'll put up any that I get before the end of 31-03-02 (the 1st day of next week).

To be honest, I don't expect any submission's, but here's an e-mail link. Go on... write a sentence with the word 'resplendent' in it....

It'll make me a happier person.
