P eter Kanis was an Immortal who bred and trained Rottweilers to help aid him in battle. While the dogs kept the Immortal at bay, he would take their heads. Kanis was successful for the most part with this tactic, but in the late 18th Century, he was hung for a crime with Duncan MacLeod as a witness. When Kanis found Duncan again, he tried that tactic, but MacLeod managed to escape and at the same time he killed one of Kanis' dogs. For the next 200 years, Kanis left a trail of dead Immortals. But when he went after MacLeod in 1995, he went for the wrong advisary. At one point, it appeared that Duncan would fall under the savage attack of the dogs, but got away. When Kanis showed up at MacLeod's house, he was surprised to find that Duncan had skillfully had a female dog ready to distract the other dogs. Without his weapons of destruction, Kanis soon fell to MacLeod's skillful swordsmanship.
