Let us reveiw what is happening, before we get into chapter 10. In Chapter 9 we
studied what Satan's army looks like and what kind of an army it was and what they will
be able to do and what way they will get to earth. We also studied who they will be able
to control and who will give them a hard time.
It is amazing that the people most christians think are "no good", will be the ones
giving Satan and his army the hardest time. This of course is because they don't want to
be "good", not because they are loyal to God, but because the don't want to bother with
that "religion" thing.
Chapter 10 is going to show us what we need to overcome at that time. The number
"ten" in the bible stands for "law and responsibilty". The numbers "four" and "six" are the
numbers of the world. When added together they equal "ten. The numbers "three" and
"seven" are for the spiritual, when they are added up they equal "ten". There are ten
commandments, which tells us what to do. This chapter is going to tell us what we need,
so that we know what to do for the Father.
Revelation 10:1
And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud:
and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as
pillars of fire:
This is another angel that is coming to tell John something. If you ever wondered what
angels look like here is a good description. There are other places in the Word that also
tells us about angels. The following two verse are two places they are described. One is
from the old testament and the other is from the new testament.
Dan 10:5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in
linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and
his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the
voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Matt 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye
seek Jesus, which was crucified.
Revelation 10:2
"And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea,
and his left foot on the earth,"
This angel had a book in his hand and that book was open.
That means that John could read what was inside.
Revelation 10:3
And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven
thunders uttered their voices.
This angel spoke and when he spoke his voice was heard and
listened to, like when you are in a jungle and you hear the roar of a lion, you stop and pay
attention. And when the angel spoke there was also another thing heard and it was seven
thunders that were heard.
Revelation 10:4
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I
heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders
uttered, and write them not.
John heard what the thunders said and he was going to write
it down, remember he was instructed to write down everything, so that he could give it to
the servants of Jesus, but another voice spoke from heaven and told him not to write
down what the seven thunders had said.
Revelation 10:5
And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand
to heaven,
Then John saw the angel lift up his hands toward heaven.
Revelation 10:6
And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things
that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things
which are therein,
Do you know who created everything? Here are a few places it
is written;
Neh 9:6 Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of
heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is
therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
Ps 146:5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the
LORD his God:
6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth
for ever:
Jer 10:11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the
earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom,
and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he
causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain,
and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of
heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast
created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Did you know time would end? Let us look at the statement the angel is saying "And
sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, that there should be time no longer: "
This angel was saying that it is for sure that there will come a time in the future, that time
will not exist. Think about that, when we are apart of the kingdom of heaven and in
eternity, there will be no need for "time", because time ends and eternity goes on forever.
Revelation 10:7
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he
shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his
servants the prophets.
This is telling us that at the seventh trump, everything would be known. The reason is
because at the seventh trump Jesus returns and all flesh is gone and everyone will know
why they were on this earth and they will know who Jesus is and who the Father is.
Jesus mentions the mystery of God, let us take a look at them.
Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the
kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
(There are certain people that know the mystery, but the rest don't understand, nor can
they. The reason they can't is because the Father has blinded them.)
Luke 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of
God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not
understand. (The Father is protecting everyone that can't understand, so that they won't
end up in the lake of fire, at the white throne judgment.)
John 12:39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with
their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. (
The Father is telling us why he hardened their minds, that they couldn't listen. He did it
because it wasn't time for them to see everything. He had other children to bring in to the
kingdom.)
