back a page                        back to my bots

7/16/01: A week ago I was able to get a frame welded. I went to my local metal shop and bought some 1x1" 1/8" steel tubing to build a frame. I had already drawn a design on the plywood frame so all I had to do was to measure the lines and cut out a piece. After many hours and hacksaw blades my dad and I got the pieces of the frame all done. The next morning we took it down to the shop to have it welded. After a few hours it was ready. All of the people at the shop seemed interested in what I was doing and they all want me to bring the bot by when its finnished. When I got home I grinded off some welds that might get in the way, then cleaned it with paint thinner and then painted it with Rustoleum. The nexed day the holes were drilled and parts bolted on. Then I went on vacation...............When I got back I recieved some new motors I ordered the week before. They are the EV warrior motors (as I was told) and one will be used as the weapon motor. I then ran into a small problem. They don't fit into the frame. Luckily I havent built the upper frame so now I will have to lengthen the bot in the back 2". I have already thought up a way to mount the motor and the parts and design of the weapon shaft. I will need to get to building very soon as I have only a week or so to finnish the bot before heading to the street fight.

I didn't get a picture of all the parts on the frame and is unable to get a picture of the new motors. the camera is holding all of the vacation pictures and I dont want to mix robot pictures into them.
